Cooking with Kids Recipe
Tree Snack
Ingredients:
• Grapes
• Pretzels (rods, sticks, and twists)

How to make:
• Cut the grapes in half (length-wise) so they
lay flat.
• Start with the tree trunk. Lay down a pretzel
rod.
• Add branches. Lay down the pretzel twists.
• Add leaves. Lay down the grapes.
• Add roots. Lay down the pretzel sticks.
• Enjoy a fun and healthy snack!

Craft Corner
Cotton Ball Tree
What you will need:
• Cotton balls
• Cardstock
• Washable paint
• Water
• Droppers
• Toilet paper roll
• Glue
• Cups with water

How to make:
• Glue the toilet paper roll onto the
cardstock.
• Glue the cotton balls at the top of the
toilet paper roll tree trunk to create
foliage.
• Let dry .
• Add the washable paint and water to the
cups. Mix to combine.
• Fill the dropper with the watery paint and
release onto the cotton balls. The paint
will soak into the cotton ball, and will
spread and mix with other colors to create
a beautiful tree!

Tree Bark Rubbings
What you will need:
• Old crayons
• Paper (easel paper works best)
• Packing tape

How to make:
• Remove the outer paper from all of the
crayons.
• Take the paper and wrap it around the trunk
of your tree.
• Secure the paper to the tree with packing
tape.
• Using the long side of the crayons, (not
the normal tip but the side of the crayon)
rub the crayons on the paper to pick up
the grooves of the tree bark. The rubbings
make the coolest pattern!

Tape Tree Art
What you will need:
• Masking tape or painter’s tape
• Thick paper (cardstock or cardboard)
• Paint

How to make:
• Have kids rip masking or painter’s tape into
different sized strips.
• Arrange the tape on cardstock in the design
of trees with branches.
• Paint over the tape.
• Let dry .
• When completely dry , carefully remove the
tape to reveal the tree art.
