FOOTBALL:
Team Composition:
● Team squad should be 17. Before start of match captain must submit the list of 11
active players and a maximum of 6 substitutes.
● Rolling substitution is allowed among the players enrolled for that match.
Duration:
● If after 60 minutes the match ends in a draw, the winners will decide by best of 5
penalty kicks.
● In case of draws in penalty/tie breaker then the match shall be decided by a sudden
death shoot-out.
● During outside there will NOT be kick-ins in the match, rather throws will be taken.
● Player(s) who have been sent off after receiving red card CANNOT be substituted
● If any player(s) receive 2 yellow cards in one match will fetch a red card.
● In case of any substitutions the referee should be informed beforehand.
Spectator Protocol:
● Spectators will remain outside the field of play during the match.
● Spectators will NOT enter the field of play until the match is called as completed by
the referee(s).
● Spectators will NOT be allowed to stand behind the goal-line of the opposing team’s
goal.
● It shall be an offence for a team if their supporters are found guilty of throwing
objects/items at team players or officials during the game. Under these circumstances,
the referee may, at his discretion, choose to abandon the match. When a match is
abandoned due to objects being thrown onto the field of play, by a team's supporters,
the offending team shall forfeit the match points.
THROWBALL:
Team Composition:
Each team can have maximum 9 players with 7 active players on the court at any point of
time. Maximum of 2 substitutes are allowed
Format rules:
Match is for best of 3 sets. Each set is played for 25 points. A team can take two timeouts of 30
secs each during the set. First team who wins 2 sets wins the match.
General rules:
● Service is within five seconds after the referee whistles and is done from the service
zone, without crossing the end line. A player cannot jump while serving the ball.
● Service ball must not touch the net and players stay in 2-3-2 position during the serve.
● Double touch and shifting not allowed.
● Two players are not allowed to catch the ball simultaneously. The ball is thrown within
three seconds after being caught, only from above the shoulder-line and only with one
hand.
● The ball is not touched with any part of the body other than the palm when catching or
throwing (body touch). The ball can neither be shifted (passed) to the left nor right, nor
deliberately pushed.
● The rotation of the position of players should be in “Z” form after every serve break.
● The server should not enter the court before ball crosses the net.
● The ball must be thrown by the player from the shoulder and above level only
● A player while receiving or returning the ball to the opponent court, no part of the body
should touch the box line.
● Any ball that touches the ground in the free zone box is called as Dead Ball and point
will be given to opponent team.
● The dimensions of the court to be used is 60ft*30ft.
● All other standard national full court Throwball rules apply.
● The referees’ decisions will be final and abiding for all calls including foul
calls. Spectator Protocol:
● Spectators will remain outside the designated space as marked by the Organizing
Committee
● Spectators will not enter the court until a match is called as completed by the referee(s).
● Prompting from spectators is actively discouraged and can be penalized.
BADMINTON:
Team Composition: The squad will consist of min of 4 boys and max of 7 and girls min of 2
and max of 4
Matches to be played:
o 2 Men’s Singles
o 2 Men’s Doubles
o 2 Women’s Singles
o 1 Women’s Doubles
General rules
● A player can play a maximum of two game of any single format, i.e., men single and
men double but not two men singles
● Teams are expected to bring their own rackets.
● Matches will be conducted in an indoor court.
● The order of games and players proposed to play games will have to be pre-decided
and submitted to the POC before the beginning of the match and cannot be changed
thereafter.
● In case of injury or incapacity to play occurs during a game, no replacement will be
allowed, and if the player refuses to play (retires hurt), the game will be deemed won
by the opponent. Also, the player will be counted as having played that game.
● The referees’ decisions will be final and abiding.
● All other standard Badminton rules apply.
Spectator Protocol:
● Spectators will remain at a distance of at least three feet behind the court’s lines during
play (this would amount to a single line of spectators along the wall on the side of the
court). Spectators will not stand in the space behind the court and will remain seated
during play.
● Spectators will not enter the court until the game is called as completed by the referee(s).
● Cheering etc., should be restricted to the time between points, and spectators are
expected to remain silent during points.
VOLLEYBALL:
● Each squad should comprise of a maximum of 10 players with 6 active players on
the court at any point of time.
● Teams must follow a rotational system in which players move clockwise through
designated positions on the court after each side-out, ensuring proper alignment
and maintaining their service order throughout the match
● The matches will consist of 3 sets of 25 points each except that the last set will have a
side change after any one team reaches 13 points.
● Service change will be counted as a point (continuous point rules apply).
● On-line ball during play as well as during service will be considered right.
● Rolling substitution will be followed.
● Time outs: A team can take a maximum of 2 time-outs of 30 seconds each in a set.
● If the set reaches or runs beyond a deuce, then 1 additional time out will be allowed.
● In case a player gets injured, a medical time out of 1 minute will be allowed.
● Medical time-outs will be limited to 2 per game.
● The player who undergoes a medical substitution, cannot come back to play the same
game.
● The referee’s decisions will be final and abiding.
● All other standard Volleyball rules
apply. Spectator Protocol:

Kabaddi (Mens):
Basics:
● Field of Play means the area which shall be covered with the AKFI
approved playing mats measuring a minimum of 17 ft.x18 ft. and maximum
of 20 ft. x 20 ft.
● Court means the area on which the Kabaddi matches shall be conducted
measuring 13 meters x 10 meters. Court is within the Field of Play,
represented through lines (points ABCD as indicated in the diagram
below).
● End Line means the four boundary lines forming the court together(AB,
BC, CD and DA as indicated in the above diagram). All end lines shall
be of 3 to 5 cm width
● Lobby means the areas bounded by AELI, BFLI, DGKJ and CHKJ
onboth sides of the court measuring 1 meter in width
● Midline means the line that divides the play field into two
equalhalves (IJ as indicated in the diagram below)
● Half-Court means each half of the court divided by the midline
(AIJD & BCJI as indicated in the above diagram)
● Baulk Line means each of the lines in court parallel to the
midline (MN & RQ as indicated in the above diagram). The distance of thebaulk
line from the midline is 3.75 meter
● Bonus Line means the line between the baulk line and endline (PO& TS
as indicated in the diagram below). The distance between Bonus line and
Baulk line is 1 meter.
a) The team that wins the toss shall have the choice of the court, or the raid, and the
team that loses the toss shall have the remaining choice. In the secondhalf, the court
shall be changed and the team,which did not opt for raid shall send their raider first.
The game in the second half shall continue with the samenumber of players as it was
at the end of the first half.
b) A player shall be declared out if any part of his body touches outside the court
(outside any end line). During struggle, a player shall be declared out only if his
entire body is out of the court, and no part of his body is in contactwith the court,
including the lobby area.
c) If any player goes out of the end line during the course of play, he shall be
declared out. The Umpire or Referee will ensure that the out player is no longer
active during the raid. The Umpire or Referee shall declare suchplayers out by calling
out the numbers. No whistle shall be blown and raid willcontinue.
d) When the struggle begins, the court shall include the lobbies during the
struggle and after the struggle in the same raid. The players involved in thestruggle
can use the lobbies to enter their respective side of the court. This rule will only be
applicable in the defending teams’ side of half court.
e) A raider shall continue to chant “KABADDI” as the approved chant. If he is not
keeping the proper approved cant in the opponent’s court, he shall be declared out and
the opponent will be awarded one point and the chance to raid. Under such
circumstances, he shall not be pursued.
f) A raider must start his cant before he touches the opponent’s side of the halfcourt.
If he starts the chant late, he shall be declared outby the Umpire or Referee and the
opponent will be awarded one point and the chance to raid.
g) If a raider goes out of turn, the Umpire or Referee shall order him to go backand a
technical point will be given to opponent team and the chance to raid.
After a raider, has reached his court, the opponents shall send their raiderwithin 5 seconds.
Each side shall continue to send their raider until the endof the game in this fashion. In case
the raider fails to start his raid within 5 seconds the team loses its chance to raid and the
opponent team is awardeda technical point.
i) If a raider, who is caught by one or more defenders, escapes from their attempt to
hold and reaches his court safely, he shall not be pursued.
Note: But if a raider touches one of more defenders and reaches his courtsafely,he may
be pursued.
k) When a raider is held, the defenders shall not try deliberately to stifle his cant by
shutting his mouth, using violent tackling leading to injuries, any type of scissoring
or use of any unfair means. If such an incident happens, the Umpire or Referee shall
declare the raider NOT OUT.
l) No defender shall willfully push the raider out of the boundary by any part of his
body, nor shall any raider willfully push or pull a defender out of the boundary. If the
raider is pushed outside the boundary or the defender is pushed or pulled outside the
boundary,the Umpire or Referee shall declare the raider or the defender, as the case
may be, NOT OUT, and the defender or theraider who pushes or pulls the opponents
outside the boundary will be declaredOUT.
NOTE: Pushing a raider out is allowed in the game with a few instructions. Thedash
referred to here is a legal move by defenders to get rid of attacking raider.
m)During the course of raid none of the defenders shall touch the raider’s court
until completion of the raid. In case one or more defender touches theraiders’ court
before completion of the raid
they will be declared out and the opponent team will be given that many points.
n) If one or more defenders’ who are out, having violated Rule xiv, holds a raider or
violates the said rule while holding or helping to hold the raider, the raider shall be
declared NOT OUT and defenders who touch the raiders’ court shall be declared
OUT.
o) When a team manages to put out the entire opponent team and none of the
opponents are entitled to be revived, then that team scores an ALL-OUT and two extra
points for ALL-OUT are awarded in addition to the points scored by the team putting
out all the players of the opponent. The play continues and allthe players who are out
shall enter in their court within 10 Seconds. Otherwise the referee or umpire shall
award one technical point to the opponent. If a teamfails to enter the court within one
minute of the ALL-OUT, then the Referee or Umpire shall award the match to the
opponent team.
p) If a raider is warned or in any way instructed by one of his own side duringa
raid, the Umpire or Referee shall award one technical point to the opponent.
q) A raider or an anti is not to be held by any part of his body deliberately other
than his limb or trunk. The one who violates the rule shall be declaredOUT. If the
raider is held deliberately other than his limb or trunk, the Umpireor Referee shall
declare such raider NOT OUT.
Note: If a raider is caught by his clothes or hair the raider shall be declared NOTOUT
and the defenders who have violated the Rule shall be declaredOUT.
r) When one or two players of a team are left during the game and the captainof the
team declares them out in order to bring in the full team, the opponentshall score as
many points as the players that existed in the court at the timeof declaration as well
as Two Extra Points for ALL-OUT.
s) Player or players who are out shall be revived in the same order as they were
out.
t) If a raider does not score any point or lose any point during the raid, the raidwill
be treated as an empty raid for his team. In case a team makes three such consecutive
empty raids, the raider of the
third empty raid shall be declared out and the opponent team shall be awardeda point
along with one of their players being revived.
Match Rules:
a) Team: Each playing team shall consist of minimum 7 and maximum 12 Players.
7 Players shall take the ground at a time and the remaining 5 players are substitutes.
c) System of scoring:
i. Each team shall score one point for every opponent out or putout. The side,
which scores an ALL-OUT, shall score two extra points. The out andrevival rule
will be applicable.
ii. Each team shall score one point for every bonus point awarded.
iii. If the raider is caught when there are only 3 defenders or less,the
defending team gets an additional bonus point. The total points awarded in such
an instance are 2.
d) Time Out:
i. Each Team shall be allowed to take One “Time Out” of 90 Second search per match.
Such time out shall be called for by the Captain, Coach, or any playing member of the
team with the permission of referee. During the time, out, the Match clock will be
paused and will restart on the commencement of the next raid which has to start on
the blow of the whistle by the referee / umpire. ii. Official Time out can be called for
by the Referee / Umpire in the event of any injury to a player, interruption by
outsiders, re-lining of theground, or any such unforeseen circumstances. Match clock
will be paused and will restart on the commencement of the next raid which has to
start on the blow of the whistle bythe referee / Umpire.
e) Substitution:
Each team is allowed a maximum number of 5 substitutions per match with the
permission of referee. Substituted Players can be re-substituted by utilizing oneof the
remaining substitute chances out of the total 5 number of substitutions allowed in a
match.
i. One point shall be awarded to the raider when he crosses the bonus line. If the
raider after crossing the bonus line is caught, the opponent team will also be awarded
one point.
ii. The Bonus line will be applicable when there is minimum 6 defenderson the
court; the Referee/Umpire shall award the bonus point after completion of such raid
by showing thumb upwards towards the side which scores.
iii. If the raider while crossing the bonus line is caught, then a point will be awarded
to the defending team & No Bonus point shall be given.
iv. If the raider after crossing the bonus line puts out one or more defenders, he will
get the number of points scored in addition to the bonus point for crossing the bonus
line.
v. The raider has to cross the bonus line to score the bonus point before touching
the defenders or before he is caught by the defenders. The raider will not be
awarded bonus point if he crosses the bonus line after a touch or struggle.
g) Result:
The team, which scores the highest number of points at the end of the match, shall be declared
the winner. h) Tie in Knock Out / Playoff Matches:
i) Weight Limit
Men:
o Team of 4 men and 1 substitute is allowed.
o 4 games will be played in each match.
Women:
o Team of 2 girls and 1 substitute is allowed.
o 2 games will be played in each match.
General Rules:
to move the same piece that was touched. Once the touched pieced is
dropped to a different position (the player loses contact with the
piece) then the move cannot be taken back (except for illegal
moves).
● Illegal moves are not allowed & the opposing player may ask for a
time penalty of 30 sec for any illegal move only when the player is
under the time pressure of under 5 minutes.
● Two illegal moves will result in a loss.
● Players are also not allowed to talk to any player during the game
for any strategies or tactics & if they wish to communicate
anything must communicate through the organizers.
● Cheering is not allowed but students can come & view the games.
Silence needs to be maintained.
● Adjustment of pieces has to be done in the player’s own time.
He/she shall not adjust in the opponent's time.
● One player from each team will play against each other. The tie-
breaker game will be a rapid-fire game with 10 min & no increment.
● In case of any discrepancy (not mentioned in the rules) the
organizers may use their judgment to make decisions.
NOTE - In case of any discrepancy, the decision taken by the IIMT Sports Committee
will be final and applicable
