THANKSGIVING
Introduction:
 We are commanded to give thanks for all things – Eph. 5:20
Eph 5:20
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

 We are also commanded to give thanks in all things – 1 Thes. 5:18/ Heb. 10:36
1 Thess 5:18
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ

Jesus concerning you.

Heb 10:36
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the

will of God, ye might receive the promise.

 But we must beware of murmuring and complaints because they only complicate
matters – Num. 11:1-3/ 1 Cor. 10:10
Num 11:1-3
And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and
the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of
the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in
the uttermost parts of the camp. 2 And the people cried unto
Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was
quenched. 3 And he called the name of the place Taberah:
because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.
1 Cor 10:10
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and

were destroyed of the destroyer.

This month, on our WSF platform, we shall be looking at Understanding the

Miracle Power of Thanksgiving.
(Sat. Oct. 5, 2024): Understanding the Miracle Power of
Thanksgiving. – Part 1
 Why give thanks? It is a commandment – Mal. 2:1-3
Mal 2:1-3
And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will
not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my
name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon
you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them
already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will
corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the
dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with
it.

But what are we thanking God for?

 For all His benefits in our lives – Psa. 103:3-5/ Psa. 28:5
Ps 103:3-5
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy

diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who

crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who
satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is
renewed like the eagle's.
Ps 28:5
5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the

operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build

them up.

 For things yet not seen – 1 Thes. 5:18/ Heb. 10:36

1 Thess 5:18
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ

Jesus concerning you.

Heb 10:36
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the

will of God, ye might receive the promise.

(Sat. Oct. 12, 2024): Understanding the Miracle Power of
Thanksgiving. – Part 2
 Why give thanks? It is a covenant platform for our prayers to be answered
– Mat. 6:9-13/ Phi. 4:6
Matt 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in

heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will

be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily
bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For

thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
Phil 4:6
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and

supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made

known unto God.

But what are we thanking God for?

 For His faithfulness in our lives – Psa. 92:1-2/ Psa. 145:8-9
Ps 92:1-2
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing
praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To shew forth thy
lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every
night,
Ps 145:8-9
8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger,

and of great mercy. 9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender
mercies are over all his works.

 For our victory over the seen and unseen battles of life – Isa. 54:1-4
Isa 54:1-4
Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into
singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child:
for more are the children of the desolate than the children of
the married wife, saith the Lord. 2 Enlarge the place of thy
tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine
habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy
stakes; 3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on
the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the
desolate cities to be inhabited. 4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be
ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be
put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth,
and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any
more.
(Sat. Oct. 19, 2024: Understanding the Miracle Power of
Thanksgiving. – Part 3
 Why give thanks? It is a covenant platform for supernatural Church growth
– Jer. 30:19-21/ Act. 2:46-47
Jer 30:19-21
19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of

them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall
not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their
congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish
all that oppress them. 21 And their nobles shall be of
themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of
them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach
unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach
unto me? saith the Lord.
Acts 2:46-47
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple,

and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat
with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and
having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the
church daily such as should be saved.

But what are we thanking God for?

 For His wondrous works in our midst as a Church – Zph. 3:17/ Psa. 28:5
Zeph 3:17
17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save,

he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he
will joy over thee with singing.
Ps 28:5
5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the

operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build

them up.

 For continuous increase and impact of the Word – Psa. 118:27/ Act. 6:7

sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company
of the priests were obedient to the faith.

 For His good hand upon our lives as individuals – Luk. 17:12-19/ Psa. 103:1-2
Luke 17:12-19
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten

men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted
up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew
yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they
went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw
that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice
glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving
him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering
said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save
this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy
faith hath made thee whole.
Ps 103:1-2
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his
holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his
benefits:

 For preservation of our blessings – Mal. 2:1-3/ Jer. 13:15-17

3 Behold, I will
corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the
dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with
it.
Jer 13:15-17
15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath

spoken. 16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause

darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark
mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the
shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. 17 But if ye will
not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride;
and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears,
because the Lord's flock is carried away captive.
