In a village in the East, there lived an old couple. They did not have any children and never
spent an extra paisaon themselves. They never repaired their house or cooked good food.
One day, a family moved into the village. It was their son's second birthday and they sent two
delicious laddoos to the old couple. The couple ate the laddoos with great relish. For days after
they could talk of nothing else. Finally the old man could not take it no more. He said to his
wife, "Let's buy the ingredients to make just two laddoos." His wife agreed but said, "IfI make
the laddoos at home, the ncighbours willknow and willwant a share. Let's cook in the woods
behind our hut. That way no one will ever know."

The life of ants is very curious and interesting. Even the great German Chancellor Bismark wondered to
look at the life of ants. Probably he was astonished to see the orderly life of the ants. We find perfect order
in the ant community. We don't find such order in the life of human beings. Every member works for the
good of the whole ant community. A city of ants is crowded and always busy. The work is unending. The
homes of these small creatures are underneath small mounds raised a little above the surrounding fields.
There are chambers and galleries inside the mounds.
The most important person in the ant community is the queen. She alone lays eggs which mark the birth of
the next generation. Based on the nature of their work, ants are divided into many kinds - worker ants,
nurse ants, sentinel ants. The worker ants carry the eggs to the nursery. The nurse ants keep a careful
