ABSTRACT

Pragmatism benefits the students to receive a practical advantage of


learning and skill of an individual. As well as the professionals, they can
benefit effectively to solve their issue or problems in their business or in their
daily lives. Next are the researchers; they can also gain and discover new
knowledge, ideas, information, and theories that can help them. Lastly, the
leaders can benefit from a lot of strategies to develop and grow their
environment, organizations, etc. The essence of pragmatism is to address
issues that they encountered during their modernization, such as opposition
to those traditions and ideas. Moreover, to enhance an individual’s
understanding or education. In politics, ethics, and epistemology, for
instance. And to offer answers to the issues we face on a daily basis.
Additionally, pragmatism encourages us to adjust to the new situation and
accept the changes. Through research into the pragmatist’s origins and
history, the philosopher attempts to apply pragmatism to the learning
process. Additionally, to review the writers and list the well-known
pragmatist philosophers, as well as to look into the ways that pragmatism is
used in business, politics, and education. Pragmatism is important because
it focuses on finding solutions to problems in areas like the environment,
education, business, health, and even a person’s peace of mind. It also aims
to help people become more knowledgeable and skilled. For instance,
pragmatism makes life easy for individuals. They have found a lot of
technology that can make life easier for people.

INTRODUCTION

Pragmatism is philosophical approach that emerged in the late 19 th and Early


20th centuries, primarily in the United States. Pragmatism developed as a
response to traditional European philosophy, particularly the rationalist and
empiricist traditions that influenced by Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914)
work on logic and semiotics, William James (1842-1910) psychological and
philosophical writing, and John Dewey’s (1859-1952) work on education,
philosophy, and social reforms. The primary purpose of pragmatism is to
provide a practical and effective approach to understanding reality,
knowledge, and truth. Pragmatism aim to overcome the dichotomy between
theory and practice, also to emphasize the importance of experience and
action, and to develop a more democratic and participatory approach to
philosophy. Pragmatism encompasses various areas including the Ethics,
pragmatist advocate for a practical, situational approach to ethics,
emphasizing democratic values, and social responsibility. Furthermore the
Logics, Pragmatism develops a distinct approach to logic, focusing on
inference, probability and abduction.

Pragmatism, a philosophical approach that emerged in the late 19 th century,


emphasizes practicality and effectiveness in addressing real-world problems.
This approach, developed by thinkers such as Charles Sanders Peirce,
William James, and John Dewey, challenges traditional notions of truth,
knowledge, and reality. Pragmatism seeks to reconcile theory and practice,
promoting a more adaptive and experiential understanding of the world.
Pragmatist, that true is determined by the practical outcomes of our beliefs
and actions. Pragmatist, acknowledge that knowledge is provisional and
subject to revision. Pragmatism recognizes multiple perspectives and values
diversity.

CONCLUSION

Pragmatism, as a philosophical approach, offers a unique perspective on


knowledge, truth, and reality. By emphasizing practicality, experimentation,
and pluralism, pragmatism provides a framework for addressing complex
problems and challenges. Pragmatism emphasizes effectiveness and
problem-solving over absolute truth. Pragmatism offers a valuable
perspective on the complex relationships between theory, practice, and
reality. By embracing pragmatist principles, we can foster a more adaptive,
innovative, and effective approach to addressing the challenges of our time.
By embracing the pragmatist approach, we can cultivate a more practical,
effective, and democratic way of addressing complex challenges and
creating positive change.
