Two of the most dangerous storms which affect America are hurricanes and tornadoes. They are
very much feared by anyone who may live in the path of their destruction.
Every year homes are destroyed by their fury and often lives are lost. Most people who live near
the coast are forced to evacuate their homes and to move to safer areas until the storm passes.
Floods are caused along the coasts by both the heavy rain and a storm tide that is considerably
above normal water level. The high winds, coastal flooding and heavy rains associated with a
hurricane cause enormous damage.
Hurricanes usually develop between July and October. Once they hit land, they carry tremendous
power with driving rain and wind.
Tornadoes are violent low-pressured storms. These storms occur most often during the summer
months and are noticeable by their strong wind and lack of rain. The sky turns black as dust is
sucked up into the air. Tornadoes are capable of lifting quite heavy objects from the ground. They
can pick up trees and cars right into the air and even uplift heavier objects such as homes and
railway cars.
Both hurricanes and tornadoes cause millions of dollars worth of damage to life and property
every year. Today they can be predicted more easily than in the past, but they cannot be stopped
or ignored.

There are three main kinds of pollution – air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution. Air,
which is the most important element of our environment for our survival, can be polluted in many
ways. Smoke in the air from mills, factories, and industry contains carbon monoxide, carbon
dioxide, and methane, which are all poisonous gases. This leads to health problems like asthma
and lung diseases, and the thinning of the ozone layer, which protects us from harmful UV rays.
China, the USA, Russia, India, Mexico, and Japan are the world leaders in air pollution emissions.
Water is also polluted by the discharge of commercial and industrial waste into surface water.
Sewage in drinking water is another cause of water pollution as it contains germs and viruses. The
noise of vehicles, mills, and factories can be really unbearable. This kind of constant sound also
causes headaches, tension, mental stress, and migraines. People living next to a building site
where there is too much noise can become sick, as they cannot sleep or relax. This is called noise
pollution.

Body language is a kind of nonverbal communication, where thoughts, intentions, or feelings are
expressed by physical behaviors, such as facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement,
touch and the use of space. Body language exists in both animals and humans, but this article
focuses on interpretations of human body language.
Body language must not be confused with sign language, as sign languages are full languages like
spoken languages and have their own complex grammar systems, as well as being able to exhibit the
fundamental properties that exist in all languages. Body language, on the other hand, does not have a
grammar and must be interpreted broadly, instead of having an absolute meaning corresponding
with a certain movement, so it is not a language like sign language, and is simply termed as a
“language” due to popular culture.
1. Facial expressions, body posture, gestures, and eye movement are examples of
A. culture language B. sign language
C. verbal language D. body language
2.Why body language is different from sign languages?
