Section A: G11iding Principles

Article 1: Purpose
The Placement Cell of Lady Shri Ram College for Women serves as an interface between the
students and the recruiters. In addition to bringing a varied list of recruiters to campus, the
Placement Cell also organises workshops, seminars, and internship opportunities for the collective
student body.

Article 2: Conveners and Union

The Placement Cell works under the guidance of Dr. Kanika Ahuja as Convener, Dr. T Kannan as
Co-Convener, Dr. Renu Kaul, Dr. Rajeev Yadav, Dr. Shravan Kumar Pandey, Dr. Shama Major,
and Dr. Vimanshi Solanki as faculty advisors.

Day-to-day operations of the Placement Cell along with the organisation of various placement
processes is carried out by the Union, with the help of the Placement Cell's student members and
department representatives.

Article 3: Authority
During unforeseen situations/issues, the decision of the Placement Cell Union and the faculty
advisors will be absolute and binding.

Section 8 : Categorization of Companies

Article 1: Type of Internships
Internships around the year are categorised as:
I. Full time
2. Part-time

• Full-time internships are pennissible only in the months of June and July and must coincide
with the University of Delhi's designated summer break.
o Students are eligible to take up only one full-time internship at a point in
time through the Placement Cell.
• Part-time internships are permissible throughout the year.
o Part-time internships are permitted for a maximum duration of four months.
o Part-time internships can only be virtual.
o Hybrid internships are only permitted if the company has an MoU with the college.
o Students are eligible to take up only one part-time internship at a point in
time through the Placement Cell
o Students are eligible for taking up a maximum of three internships in one
academic year.
o Time commitment in part-time internships is permitted for a maximum of:
I. 10 hours a week if the internship is unpaid.
II. IS hours a week if the internship pays a stipend upto Rs. S,000.
IJI. 20 hours a week if the internship pays a stipend above Rs. S,000.

Article 2: Categorisation of Companies {applicable to full-time internship s only)

The companies are categorised into three groups:
• The Dream Internship Programme
• Tier I
• Tier 2
The categorisation is based on the pay package offered, the company's reputation, and its association
with the college.

Dream Internship Programme

This category includes companies:
• Offering a stipend equal to or more than Rs.40,000 (Rupees Forty Thousand)
and/or
• Offering a pre-placement offer at the end of the internship period
and/or
• Prestigious organisations which share a long-term relationship with the college

Tier 1
This category include companies:
• Offering a stipend equal to or more than Rs 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand)

Tier2
This category includes companies that are not classified as Dream/Tier I.

Although a clear demarcation has been suggested here, the categorisation of companies may be
subject to change under the discretion of the Placement Cell faculty advisors and the Union.
Article 3: Slotting (applicable to full-time internships only)

The slot for the company to visit our campus and recruit during the internship season will
be base-d on the pay package, number of offers made in the past, profile of the company,
number of years of association with LSR (whether exclusive or not), and feedback from
alumni interning with the company.
Important: If a student rejects the offer post accepting it without any valid reason (as
ascertained by the Placement Cell), it will lead to blacklisting from the internship
opportunity. Further, it shall also invoke the following two disciplinary actions in their
placements in Semester 5/6/7/8:
1. The student will only be allowed to sit for ONLY one super blue
company of their choice.
2. The student will be eligible to receive only one placement offer (instead of
two).

Section C: Internship Rules

Article 1: Rules regarding eligibility

• Students from all the years will be eligible for the Summer Internship 2025, as
specified by the recruiting organization/company.

• The third-year students who do not wish to participate in placements during the
academic year 2024-2025 and will graduate in 2026 are eligible to sign the
Internship Policy.

• Starting April 2025, students who have not yet secured a placement offer will be eligible
to participate in summer internship opportunities as they become available.

• Students from any year are eligible to apply for part-time internships, as specified
by the recruiting organization/company.

Article 2: Categorisation-wise rules

• If a student is recruited by a Dream Internship company, they will not be

permitted to apply to any further company visiting campus.

• If a student is recruited by a Tier l company, they are then eligible to receive one
more offer by a Dream Internship company. They are not eligible to apply to any
other Tier I company.
• If a student is recruited by a Tier 2 company, they are then eligible to receive
one more offer by a Tier I/ Dream Internship company. They are not eligible to
apply to any other Tier 2 company.

• If a student has been shortlisted/selected by a company, say a Tier 2 Company X,

but has not received an internship offer yet, they are permitted to sit for
internships at other companies. During this time period, if they receive an offer
from another Tier I or Tier 2 company, they will not be permitted to appear for
the final round of selection for the previous company X.

Article 3: Rules regarding acceptance

• While accepting or rejecting an offer by signing the offer letter (whether part-time
or full-time), the students must cc the official Internships ID of the Cell i.e
internships@lsr.edu.in. In case a student does not do so, it will be counted as an
offence.

• If a student accepts an internship offer, either through an email acceptance or

through physically signing the offer acceptance letter she will not be permitted to
apply to any further company visiting campus, i.e., she will be signed out of the
internship process.

• Selected students must accept an internship offer within two weeks or as

specified by the company. Non-acceptance of the same within the stipulated
time frame would automatically amount to a rejection of the offer.

Article 4: Some M1scellaneous Rules

• It is the responsibility of the student to conduct their own preliminary background

check for a company they wish to apply for. The Placement CelJ does not assume
any responsibility/guarantee of the credentials of the company.

• Whether a company carries out the internship process on or off-campus, the LSR
Internship Policy applies. Here, the off-campus process refers to opportunities
that are routed through the Placement Cell but the process is handled
independently by the company itself.

• All correspondence between the company and the candidates has to be done
through the Placement Cell. After the company has selected the students who
will be offered the final internships, the Placement Cell will have to be duly
notified following which we will inform the selected students. Only after this, the
company can be in direct touch with the candidates to figure out details such as
joining date, location, etc.

• Students are required to share their internship certificate/letter with the Placement
Cell/any other body of the college.

Section D: Blacklisting Policy

Article 1: Significance
If a student acts/conducts themself in an undesirable/unethical manner that jeopardises
the college's reputation and its future association with its corporate partners, and leads to
the application of the blacklisting policy, they will be restricted from applying for any
further internships through the Placement Cell, i.e., they will be out of the internship
process with immediate effect. Further, other disciplinary action will be taken against them
by the college.

Article 2: Pre-Internship Talk

• If a student wishes to sit for internships of a particular company, it is mandatory
for them to sit for the pre-internship talk of that company, if any, whether conducted
online or oftline.

• Under extremely unavoidable circumstances, wherein a student is unable to attend a

particular talk that they have signed up for, it is mandatory for them to send a replacement
for themselves
• If they are unable to do so, it will be regarded as an 'absence offence'. A total of
three such absence offences against a particular student will lead to the student getting
blacklisted.

Article 3: Unethical Behaviour

Undesirable/unethical conduct which will result in one offence includes (however, is not
limited to):

• Not joining the company after accepting the internship offer

• Failure to conform to the recruitment process prescribed by the company
• Absence from interview rounds of the companies that one signed up for
• Absence from workshops that one signed up for (students will strictly not be
allowed to attend if they do not sign up)i
• Delayed rejection of an accepted offer, unless under extremely unavoidable
circumstances
• If a student gets selected for an internship X and does not wish to continue the
process for any other applied internship Y, it is mandatory to inform this decision
before the process of Y begins.
