Narrator : In a city there is a very beautiful kingdom, the kingdom is ruled by a king named

King Midas. King Midas loved gold more than anything. He kept his gold in a private room,
and hid it from the people. The king’s love for gold increased every day. He liked it so much
that he named his beloved daughter marigold. Marigold was very loved by his father. He is
full of life and sees beauty in the smallest things.

(scene 1)
Marigold : “Father, come see how beautiful the flowers are! It’s such a beautiful day. Look
how the dewdrops shine on the grass!”

Midas : “It’s still not shinier than gold, Marigold. You wouldn’t understand, my dear.”
(rifqi pergi)

Narrator :His daughter didn’t understand why her father liked the gold so much.
(fika menggeleng-gelengkan kepalanya)

(rifqi duduk di kursi singgsana)
Narrator: While the king was relaxing on his throne, suddenly a foreign man in simple clothes
and bare feet appeared, accompanied by guards.

(scene 2)
(dimas dan fika datang)
Midas: (curious) “Who is he?!”

Guard: “Your Majesty, we found him on the road, and he seems lost”

Silennus: (bowing respectfully) “Your Majesty, I am Silennus, I have traveled a long way, but
I got lost”

Midas : “lost you say? Hmm okay you can stay here until we find a house for you”

Silennus : “Thank you, Your Majesty. I am truly grateful for your kindness”
Narrator : Silennus received friendly and kind treatment in the kingdom.
After a few days, Silennus left after finding a house
(dimas pergi)

One time when King Midas was enjoying the beautiful view in his private room by looking at
the glittering gold, the God Dionysius came to see King Midas.
(rifqi duduk memainkan emasnya)

King Midas: (startled) “What?! Oh heavens! Who are you? Why are you here?”

Dionysus: (smiling) “I am the god of the forests, Midas.”

King Midas: “How do you know my name? Are you here to rob my gold?”

Dionysus: (chuckling) “What would I do with gold? I’m here to thank you.”

King Midas: “Thank me? For what?”

Dionysus: “Silennus, told me how well you took care of him. So I’ve come to grant you a
wish. Tell me, what do you desire?”

King Midas: (excitedly) “I know what could make me happy. Give me a golden touch. I wish
that whatever I touch turns to pure gold!”

Dionysus: (serious) “okei.As soon as the sun rises tomorrow, anything you touch will turn to
gold.

Narator : The next morning, Midas begins testing his golden touch, turning everything in his
palace and garden to gold.
Narrator : Soon, he becomes hungry and tries to eat.
(rifqi mengambil makanan)

King Midas: (in shock, touching food) “What? Why is this food turning into gold? What will
I eat? I’m so thirsty…what will I drink?”

Narrator : Suddenly, Marigold runs to him from the garden

Marigold: (cheerful) “Father!”

King Midas: (reaching out, realizing too late) “No, Marigold! No!”

Narrator : Marigold turns into a golden statue

King Midas: (devastated) “Oh no…what have I done? Marigold, my beautiful little sparkle,
please, say something!”

Narrator : King Midas runs to the dungeon and cries for help. Dionysus reappears

Dionysus: “Oh, King Midas, why do you look so sad?

King Midas: (begging) “God, I beg for your forgiveness. What good is this gift if it takes my
daughter from me? I can’t eat or drink gold. I don’t need it. My true treasure was my
daughter, and now she is lost to me.”

Dionysus: “ha, Midas, you have learned a valuable truth. Gold fades, but the love and
affection of those around us are eternal.”

King Midas: “Please, take all the gold! Take everything…but give me my Marigold back.”
Dionysus: “Very well, King.take this pot filled with magical water. Sprinkle a few drops on
everything you’ve turned into gold. It will reverse the effect of your touch.”

King Midas: (gratefully) “Thank you! Thank you, god!”

Narrator : Midas runs to Marigold and sprinkles the magical water on her

Marigold: (gasping, waking up) “Father, what happened here?”

King Midas: (holding her close) “Nothing, my child. I will set everything right.”

Narrator : He then goes around the palace, restoring everything he turned to gold. Finally, he
sits with Marigold in the garden)

King Midas: “Marigold, look at how beautiful the flowers are! It’s such a beautiful day. Look
at the dewdrops shining on the grass.”

Marigold: (smiling) “Yes, Father. It’s lovely.”

Narrator : Back in the palace, Midas sits with his family, enjoying a simple breakfast

King Midas: (taking a deep breath) “Never has food tasted this delicious, nor water so
refreshing. I am the richest man on earth, with my family beside me.”

Narrator : Marigold smile, watching the change in Midas, who never returns to count gold in
the dungeon again
