ECUMENICAL WORSHIP ORDER

Call to Worship (AICS)

Leader: “Come, all who are weary, and all who are joyful. Come, those who have walked in faith
for many years, and those who are new to the journey. Come, people of all nations, tribes, and
tongues, for we gather in the name of the One who unites us in love and grace.”

Congregation: “We come, as the body of Christ, with hearts open to worship our Creator.”

L: “Come, let us lay aside our differences, and lift up our voices in praise and thanksgiving, for
God calls us to be one in spirit and truth. Let us worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, for
God is worthy of all honour, glory, and power.”

C: “We come, united in Christ, to glorify God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”

L: “Let us worship the God who is with us, in every season and in every place.”

C: “Thanks be to God! Amen.”

Opening Prayer (ATC)

“Gracious and loving God, we come before you today as one body, though we come from
many different traditions and places. We gather in this sacred space, united by the love of Christ
and bound together by your Holy Spirit. As we lift our voices in worship, may our hearts be drawn
closer to you and to one another.
We thank you for the gift of this day, for the opportunity to come together as your people,
seeking your presence and guidance. Pour out your Spirit upon us, so that we may be renewed in
faith, hope, and love.
Open our eyes to see your glory, open our ears to hear your voice, and open our hearts to
receive your grace.

1
In this time of worship, may we experience the fullness of your peace, and may we be
empowered to carry your message of reconciliation and justice into the world.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever. Amen.”

Opening Hymn (Shall we all rise)

“Holy Holy Holy, LORD God almighty…”
Holy Holy Holy, LORD God almighty, early in the morning our song shall rise to thee,
Holy Holy Holy merciful and mighty, God

Confession of Sin (BTC Nagaland)

Continue to stand…
Leader: “Let us come before God in humility, acknowledging our brokenness and the ways we
fall short of God’s love and grace. Let us pray together.”

All: “Almighty and merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you and against one
another. We have failed to love as you have commanded. We have been selfish, impatient, and
unkind. We have neglected the needs of the poor and the oppressed, ignored the cries of the
marginalized, and have not been good stewards of your creation.
Forgive us, Lord, for the harm we have done, for the good we have left undone, and for the
ways we have failed to follow your will.
Cleanse our hearts, renew our minds, and strengthen our resolve to walk in your ways, that
we may reflect your love and grace to the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, we pray.
Amen.”

(Silence for a while…)

Absolution (Bishop’s College Kolkata)

Leader: “Hear these words of assurance: If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive
us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).”

Leader: “By the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Receive this
forgiveness and live in the light of God’s mercy.”

All: “Thanks be to God. Amen.”

2
Affirmation of Faith (The Nicene Creed) (CTC Nagaland)
We believe in one God,
the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is,
seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.

3
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

(Please be seated…)
