LESSON PLAN:
Activity 1: (introduction) interaction pattern: WCA time: 3’
-Ss say if they have heard about Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.
Activity 2: interaction pattern: WCA time: 15’
-SB, p. 16, R&V: Ss first look at the photos of Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.
-I read out loud the text A grand adventure. I explain in English some words: married, excited, wedding.
-We translate the text together ( individually students do it , but I help them if they need my help).
-Ss copy the new vocabulary from the board in their notebooks.
Activity 3: interaction pattern: individual time: 10’
-SB, p. 16, R&V: A few students read out loud the text.
Activity 4: interaction pattern: individual time: 3’
-SB, p. 17, ex. 1: Ss match the words on the left and right about previous text.
-A student reads out loud his / her answers.
Activity 5: interaction pattern: individual time: 5’
-SB, p. 17, Reading comprehension: Ss read the text again and then they write if given sentences are true
(T) or false (F).
-Five students read out loud 5 sentences and say True or False.
Activity 6: interaction pattern: individual time: 5’
-SB, p. 17, Listening: Ss listen to CD (T4)- a short text about the Grand Canyon and complete missing words.
-A student reads out loud again missing words.
Activity 7: (final part) interaction pattern: WCA time: 4’
-A student say what are Las Vegas and Grand Canyon famous for.
-Homework: a) Ss copy the text A grand adventure(SB, p. 16) to their notebooks;
b) WB, p. 9, ex. 1-3.
