2) Course Overview
Foreign languages module is composed of two elements, English and French.
In the first term(S1) of the first year, the objective of this course is to help students get to the
A1 level, allowing them to grasp the basics of the language. This includes being able to
introduce themselves, ask basic questions, and understand simple responses.
The blended teaching mode is adopted : in person sessions (5 sessions) and online courses
through the platform Rosetta Stone (15 hours)
Online : Students can have access to the platform through Moodle. They have to take the
placement test (seriously), download Rosetta Stone application from the link they will receive
in their emails and start doing the activities and exercises suggested by the platform. They
have to spend at least 15 hours working online to be allowed to take the final test .
In person sessions : students have to attend and participate in the classroom activities that aim
at helping students get to the A1 level, focusing on the first five units suggested by Rosetta
Stone platform. Each session, we focus on one unit.

How to Play:
1. A student from Team A picks a word from the list without revealing it to anyone.

and curved?" (Answer: banana), or who is… ? (e.g., “Who is known for their red
cape?” for Superman) or how many… ?
