Living in a city in Britain has both advantages and disadvantages. One

advantage is it is often easier to find work. There is usually a choice of public

transport, so you do not need to own a car. Also, there are a lot of interesting

things to do and places to see. For example, you can eat in good restaurants, visit

museums, and go to the theatre. Moreover, when you want to relax, you can

usually find a park where you can sit on the park bench and read a book. City life

is full of varieties, and you need never feel bored. However, there are

disadvantages. For instance, you might not be able to afford many things because

living in a city is expensive. It is difficult to find good and cheap accommodation.

Moreover, public transport is sometimes crowded and dirty and even the parks

can become very crowded, especially on Sundays. Despite all the crowds, it is still

possible to feel very lonely in a city. In conclusion, I think city life can be suitable

for young people, who like enjoyment and do not mind the noise and pollution.

However, many people when they get older often prefer to live in the countryside.

The term zoo is a common abbreviation for “zoological garden”, an

establishment that maintains a collection of wild animals. Today, zoos can be

found in almost every country in the world. There are several benefits of keeping

animals in zoos. To start with, one benefit of keeping animals in zoos is

education. To the scientist, animals are valuable for scientific research, the

scientist can observe animals’ natural habits safely and easily in zoos. To educate

the public, zoos are the most convenient way to see animals at a close distance.

Also, animals in zoos have less chance to fight for food or area because

everything is available for them. Also, a system of breeding in zoos makes them

important places for animals’ survival. Overall, keeping animals in zoos can

benefit society since it helps to protect the animal’s life. On the other hand, there

are some disadvantages. The small place they have been kept affects their

natural behaviour, they will become lazy since the zookeepers take care of them.

Also, zoo animals may suffer health problems in the environment. In zoos,

animals only have a restricted place to move. Finally, animals should not be kept

in zoos because it is their right.

There are many great inventions in our life. They make our life easier. One of the great
inventions I really like is cars. In my opinion, Cars are great invention because they help us
to move easily.

Cars have a long history. There are many different types of cars such as steam, electric,
and gasoline cars. Karl Benz invented and designed the first car in 1886. He was from
Germany. However, there were many tries before to make cars; For example, Nicolas-
Joseph invented the first steam vehicle for the French army in 1769.

From 1832-1839, Robert Anderson made the first electric vehicle in Scotland. In the past,
there weren’t many cars and only few people had them. They were also too expensive.
Today, we have different companies of cars such as Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, Honda and
others.

Cars now are cheaper and have different sizes and colours. However, cars cause air
pollution because they use petrol. As a result, many car companies try to invent cars,
which use electricity instead. Many tries succeeded and we heard about electric cars and
cars that work by solar system.

To sum up I think that even though companies try to reduce the number of cars that use
petrol, we will need more time to have cheap electrical cars.

Nowadays, many people prefer to eat in restaurants or order ready-made food online
because they are too busy with their jobs. They don’t have time to prepare or cook their
food or wash dishes.

Personally, I think eating at home is much healthier. If you cook food at home, you will
often buy fresh ingredients instead of eating the frozen food served in restaurants. You
can also control the amount of food you eat. While in a restaurant, you may eat a full
plate of food just because you paid for it.

Preparing food at home is also safer and healthier for children. Unlike adults and old
people, small children can become easily ill because of the poor quality of food. They may
have stomach-ache. Moreover, according to some reports and studies, 55 % of teenagers
in Kuwait are overweight because they eat lots of fast food at restaurants.

Eating in a restaurant also costs a lot of money. Most of the good meals are expensive.
So, it would be difficult for poor families to pay for it.

In conclusion, I prefer cooking at home because it is healthy and it saves money, but
people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle.

Most of the countries in the world have zoos to protect special species, animals, and
natural life. One example is Mihintale Wildlife Zoo in Sri Lanka which is the first zoo in the
world. I think that zoos play an important role and are very good for many reasons.

First, Zoos help protect wildlife. Unfortunately, many animal species are about to
become extinct and disappear because people destroy their natural habitats and
environment. So, zoos provide a safe place for wildlife to live and grow.

Second, Zoos provide a good environment for the animals. They are similar to their
real environment, so animals will live as if they were outside in the wild. Zookeepers will
help observe and watch them to make sure the animals are safe.

Third, zoos are good for the economy as they help raise money needed to spend on the
zoos. Local people and tourists must pay money to visit zoos and enjoy their time. Also,
zoos help create more jobs for young people such as tour guides, researchers, and
animal and plant specialists.

In short, zoos serve as a habitat for different animals, birds, and plants. They also help
protect endangered animals from hunters and other dangers.

Albert Parkhouse was born in Canada in 1879. He grew up in the town of Jackson
because his family moved there when he was five years old. After graduating from
college, Albert worked in a company. One day, in 1903 he came into work wet and
cold because it was raining outside. Unfortunately, there was no place to hang
his coat because they usually used to hang their coats behind their chairs.
Therefore, he took a wire and folded it. Then he looped the wire over a shelf and
hung his coat up. All his fellow employees were so amazed of the great idea and
asked Albert to make hangers for them as well. This small invention helped them to
keep their coats neat and dry. In 1906, a men ware company used his hanger’s
idea to display their clothes. Now adays people use hangers everywhere in shops
and homes.
