Cycling
Our excessive dependence on motorized road transport imposes significant economic
costs on society. These include congestion, road casualities, physical inactivity and ill
health caused by it eg. Obesity. Cycling could substantially reduce these risks, while
strengthening local economies in both urban and rural areas , supporting local businesses
and boosting the economic productivity . A bicycle is being lent at fixed charge for the first
three days of week and an additional charge for each day thereafter . Mr Sam paid Rs 30
for a cycle kept for seven days. If fixed charges are Rs p and per day additional charges
are Rs q then from the above information answer the following questions.
(i) Write the linear equation formed.
(ii) If fixed charge is Rs 14 ,then find the additional charge paid by Mr. Sam for each extra day .
(iii) If per day additional charge is Rs 5, then find the charge for first three days ?
Or
What will be the equation formed if Mr.Sam paid Rs 27 for 5 days ?

As shown in the village of Surya there was a big pole PC. This pole is tied with a strong
wire of 10 m length .Once there was a big spark on this pole , thus wire got damaged very
badly. Any small fault was usually repaired with the help of a rope which normal board
electricians were carrying on bicycles. This time electrician need a staircase of 10 m so
that it can reach at a point P on the pole and this should make 600 with line AC .

MATHS LAB KIT
David , a student of class IX visited a book shop of his school for purchasing the Maths lab
kit . Mr Roy, who is running the bookshop in school told David that Maths lab kit consists of
a lab manual and a notebook and the total cost of the lab kit is 2x2+7x+3 . He also told
David that total price of kit includes individual price of Manual and notebook .
On the basis of above information answer the following questions ?
(i) The price of the kit is given by 2x2+7x+3 . What is the degree of equation ?
(ii) 2x2+7x+3 is which type of polynomial ?
(iii) Find the zero of polynomial 2x2+7x+3
Or
