Reflection Paper
After watching the video, I have felt like I made a deeper connection with the university after
learning of its history. It made me appreciate what the university is today after many hardships and
trials it faced through the years. Creating an environment that was cultivated from the roots of the
first teachers, passing down to its learners who strive to teach it’s new learners about the knowledge
they’ve gotten from their teachers. It made me deeply appreciate the home-grown culture of the
university, a thing other universities lack. The grit of the university to continue despite the countless
wars they experienced in its primary years also embody the filipino spirit of moving forward in spite of
adversity. Now, the university is moving into a new age of technology, creating new horizons for its
students to reach, while still retaining the values it nurtured through the years. As a student,
nurturing these values and the university’s VISION and MISSION is in a way of thanking the school for
this wondrous opportunity to be part of this deeply-rooted community.
My way of promoting the university VISION and MISSION is through posts in the university’s
official group page that highlights the VISION and MISSION of the school. Another way may be to
actively participate in school programs that directly or indirectly align to the school’s mission, wherein
we as students, can perfectly practice ourselves to openly follow the schools values and teachings.
Lastly, in club gatherings, I entered one of the clubs in CNU and for me, I can vocally suggest to my
club members on formulating an activity that would be engaging to the student body whilst
highlighting the school’s VISION and MISSION, such as school quiz bowls which challenge our
learnings and enhance competency, or field-trips, which exposes us to unfamiliar environments in
which we are challenged to adapt or overcome hurdles that we encounter.
In conclusion, promoting the university’s VISION and MISSION is very important to inspire
many future students, sharing posts from the university’s official Facebook page that highlights
VISION and MISSION, and participating school programs and proudly represents the school. I
recommend to formulating an activity that would engage the students to join highlighting the school’s
VISION and MISSION to expose us into challenging and fun experience to adopt and overcome
hardships that we would encounter. For me, Cebu Normal University is a school that can make
students feel enjoy and learn in many ways. These are my ways in promoting the university’s VISION
and MISSION to guide the future students in the university.
