CAS Interview Manzur-2
Ans: My name is Manzur Elahi Al Hossain. I was born and raised in Dhaka,
the capital city of Bangladesh. Unfortunately, my parents are no longer
with us. I did my MBA in Marketing from University Of South Asia
Bangladesh in 2021. I am married and have one child. My child is a 4-
year-old son. My wife used to be a school teacher, but she is now fully
dedicated to raising our kid.
2. What will be the teaching method of the course? / What will be the
structure of the course?
1. Block Teaching: The program starts with two intense courses, allowing
students to focus deeply over a short time. This format is ideal for those
with other commitments, like work or family.
These methods ensure that students are assessed on both their academic
knowledge and practical research skills, preparing them for future
academic or professional roles.
Ans: Dr. Rami Salem and Philip Kostov are involved in overseeing
postgraduate research degrees within the School of Business, and they
might be key contacts for research-related queries.
6. In your own words, please provide three reasons you chose this
university?
Ans:
Reason 1: The university has extensive connections with the business and
management industry, from where I can get a maximum benefit. I will also
have complete access to workshops, seminars, and various networking
opportunities.
8. Why do you want to study in the UK rather than your home country?
Ans: The UK is renowned for its high academic standards and the
emphasis on research and hands on practical learning. The opportunity to
study in a diverse and dynamic environment where I can learn from both
international experts and fellow students from around the world is
invaluable. Moreover, the specific research facilities and resources
available at UCLan are not available in my home country, making the UK
the ideal place for me to pursue my studies.
Ans: I have secured the necessary funds to cover my tuition fees and
living expenses through my Job, family business and personal property
selling. I am fully prepared to manage my finances throughout the
duration of my studies. Apart from this I have some fixed deposits in
banks.
11. Can you explain any gaps in your academic or employment history?
Ans: Apparently after completing my bachelor’s degree in 2003, I was
looking for professional attachments. During this time, I had few part time
apprentice attachments, but it has been more than 21 years since, that is
why I do not have any documents.
13. What challenges do you expect to face during your studies, and how
will you overcome them?
14. Please list two other universities you researched as part of your UK
study plans?
University of Stirling
Finances
15. How much does your course cost and how you are funding your
studies?
This amount is quite manageable for me. I have been working in senior
management for the past 8 years, with an annual gross income of
approximately £3 million. I have paid tax at the highest bracket for the
past 6-7 years and have savings of over 5 million in cash. Additionally, I
have investments in the capital market and fixed assets. In 2022, I
received a significant portion of the profits from the sale of our family
property in my native village.
Ans: I need to spend £300 per week for accommodation and £300 per
week for living costs.
17. How much will you earn in your home country yearly?
18. Why did you prefer UCLan than studying in other University ?
19. What do you know about UCLan and Preston ? Pls describe a little.
Ans: Here are some key points about UCLan and its location:
Diversity: The university has a large and diverse student body, with
students from over 100 countries.
Preston, Lancashire:
Affordability: One of the most affordable cities in the UK, making it a cost-
effective place for students to live.
22. Did you consider studying any other countries? How many countries
did you research?
Ans: I have done research with universities in Canada, Australia, and
Sweden, but I found that the education system of the UK is by far the
most advanced and has the upper hand in many ways. Furthermore, a UK
degree is widely accepted both worldwide and in my own country.
