SK San Isidro recently held its annual Linggo ng Kabataan celebration on August 25,

2024 with the theme, "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable
Development.". The event was filled with various activities that not only promoted the
development of the youth but also fostered a sense of community and pride in Filipino culture.
Through competitions and interactive games, the celebration brought together young people to
celebrate their talents, intelligence, and creativity.

One of the most anticipated activities of Linggo ng Kabataan 2024 was the Laro ng Lahi.
This traditional Filipino games segment was a joyful reminder of the importance of preserving
Filipino heritage. The games, such as patintero, luksong tinik, and tumbang preso, brought back
the nostalgia of childhood and encouraged the youth to appreciate the simplicity and camaraderie
that these traditional games promote. The event also catered to the intellectual abilities of the
youth through the Quiz Bee. It was not only a test of knowledge but also an opportunity for the
youth to challenge themselves and strive for academic excellence.

In line with the theme of celebrating Filipino culture, the Pinoy Henyo contest added a
fun and engaging element to the event. Teams worked together to guess words and phrases
related to the Linggo ng Kabataan theme, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The artistic talents of the youth were also highlighted through the Slogan Making and
Poster Making Contests. In the Slogan Making Contest, participants creatively expressed their
thoughts on the event's theme by crafting slogans that captured the essence of youth
empowerment through digital pathways. Similarly, the Poster Making Contest showcased the
artistic abilities of the participants. Using a mix of traditional and digital media, young artists
conveyed powerful messages about sustainability, technology, and progress.

In keeping with the digital theme of this year’s celebration, Linggo ng Kabataan 2024
also featured a Mobile Legends Tournament, a popular online multiplayer game that has taken
the youth by storm. The tournament attracted young gamers who showcased their skills, strategy,
and teamwork in a competitive yet friendly environment.

Linggo ng Kabataan 2024 successfully combined traditional Filipino values with modern
digital advancements. The range of activities such as Laro ng Lahi, Quiz Bee, Pinoy Henyo,
Slogan Making, Poster Making, and the Mobile Legends Tournament ensured that there was
something for everyone, whether they were more inclined towards sports, academics, arts, or

 On June 29, 2024, Barangay San Isidro held the awarding ceremony of the Maisan &
Kalesa Festival Basketball Tournament. organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of
Barangay San Isidro, the event was a major highlight of the festival, bringing together young
basketball enthusiasts and the community to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and youth
empowerment. The awarding ceremony took place at the P-7 Covered Court, where participants,
organizers, and spectators gathered in high spirits to recognize the achievements of the
tournament’s standout teams and players.

The basketball tournament was a central part of the Maisan & Kalesa Festival, a
celebration of local culture and traditions, intertwined with modern sports activities that foster
youth engagement. The tournament, which ran over several weeks, saw participation from
numerous teams, with each match showcasing the skills and dedication of the players. The
Sangguniang Kabataan, led by SK Chairperson Hon. Joan Candelaria, took the lead in ensuring
the event's success, from organizing the games to preparing for the awarding ceremony. The

committee members.

The master of ceremony, SK Kagawad Charlet Resuello, expertly guided the audience

 On August 24, 2024, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay San Isidro organized a
significant event aimed at supporting the academic finances of local college students held at
Purok 3 Covered Court in Daet, Camarines Norte. The Sangguniang Kabataan Educational
Assistance Program provided financial aid to college students in the barangay. This initiative is a
testament to the SK’s dedication to empowering the youth through education and ensuring that
financial constraints do not hinder their pursuit of higher learning.

The educational assistance program was designed to alleviate the burden of tuition fees,
school supplies, and other academic expenses for college students. Recognizing the importance
of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for the youth, the SK led
by SK Chairperson Hon. Joan Candelaria, initiated this program to support students who face
financial difficulties in continuing their studies.

During the event, students gathered at the Purok 3 Covered Court with a mix of

 On July 6, 2024, Barangay San Isidro came alive with excitement as the Sangguniang
Kabataan (SK) organized the much-anticipated Extreme Challenge held at the Barangay Hall.
The event brought together residents of all ages for a day filled with various competitions,
including a bicycle race, chess tournament, badminton matches, and a tug-of-war competition.
The day began with the bicycle race, where participants eagerly lined up to take on the
challenging course around the barangay. The race saw intense competition as cyclists navigated
the roads with determination, cheered on by supportive onlookers. The energy in the air was
contagious, making the race a memorable start to the event.

At the same time, inside the Barangay Hall, the chess tournament was started. Players
focused intently on their boards, carefully planning each move. The atmosphere was one of quiet
concentration, with both players appreciating the strategic nature of the game. In the end, one
player emerged as the chess champion, but all participants were celebrated for their efforts. As
the day progressed, the badminton matches brought more action to the event. Teams and
individuals competed in fast-paced games, displaying impressive agility and skill. The sound of
the shuttlecock being hit back and forth echoed through the hall, accompanied by the cheers of
the audience. It was clear that everyone was enjoying the competitive yet friendly atmosphere.

The highlight of the day was the tug-of-war competition. Teams from different parts of
the community faced off, pulling the rope with all their strength. The crowd gathered around,
shouting words of encouragement as the rope moved back and forth. It was a test of teamwork
