Greetings from the Student Nurses’ Association of India-Kerala State Branch
We are delighted to inform you that National Student Nurses’ Association of India
(SNAI) has completed 95 years and heading towards its centenary in 2029. Let us march
forward with dedication and commitment to celebrate thecentenary.

MINUTES OF THE STATE SNA EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 20th
MAY 2024 AT RENEWAL CENTRE, KALOOR, ERNAKULAM
The executive meeting of SNA Kerala State branch was held on Monday 20th May
2024 at Renewal Centre, Kaloor, Ernakulam for planning the activities of the year

The new office bearers took over the charge officially during the
executive meeting. Detailed discussion about SNA activities were done
during the meeting. Following points were discussed and decisions were
taken :-
• Individuals who actively participate in zone/state SNA programs
and who have won awards can be eligible for internal marks. The
matter can be addressed again to all principals by SNA and TNAI.
• 1.Cricket competition will be held in different levels after studying
the possibilities.we’ll try our best to conduct the event.
• From this year, Vattappattu and Face painting will be added to the
arts competition.
• Badminton singles will be replaced by badminton doubles.
• A Decision was made on modifying the criteria’s of arts and sports
items after expert opinion.
• The zonal subscription is increased from 90 to 100 rupees per
student and the state subscription is increased from 60 to 70
rupees per student.
• All the SNA units should collect and hand over the state
subscription on or before 30th of July 2024.
• Mode of communication from state level to the unit level will be
through email only.
• The leadership training program for state and Zonal level
executives will be informed later.
• Experienced and quality judges will be appointed for state level competitions.
• The green room is not allowed to be used by the makeup artist. Instead, they can
utilize the space outside the green room or separate room shold be provided for
them.
• Margam kali criteria has been slightly changed.
• MIME SHOW can be performed by showing teeth.
• SNA website will be developed by newly elected executives.
• A strong appeal committee will be formed after further studies.
• There is a chance to change the venue for State Arts and sports,it will be informed later.
• All the new units should sent their unit email-id to the official SNA
email(snakeralastate@gmail.com)
• Media participation/ coverage should be encouraged in all kind of
SNA activities so that SNA becomes more visible to the public also.
• Each unit level executives should submit the number of students
in the particular unit through email along with the subscription
payment

• There must be a Zonal/unit level joint bank account in the names
of the respective Zonal/unit advisor, Secretary / Treasurer for
fund collection.
• Unit or zonal level SNA activities and photos should be updated on
the SNA OFFICIAL MEDIA TEAM-WHATSAPP GROUP and social
media pages.
• Students can share academic activities, non-academic activities,
concerns and issues with SNA/TNAI leaders and seek assistance
via email, Facebook page, Instagram page, or direct phone call.
• SNA's state-level sports competition, SPARTA 2K24, will take place in
the third week of August 2024, and the arts and education competition,
DHANAK-2K24, will take place in the third week of September
(tentative dates are to be announced shortly). All the zones should finish
sports and games competitions before 30th july 2024 and the Arts and
Educational competitions before 30th of August 2024.
• All zonal advisors are advised to submit the list of participants
(which includes the full name of participants ) for sports and games
before first week of august and arts and educational competitions
before fourth week of August 2024.
• Active student participation shall be encouraged and promoted for
the zonal and state level programmes.
• All participants are required to verify their institution/university
ID prior to any competition. Those who do not have an ID card
cannot participate
• All the units should submit the national level subscription and
ensure your participation and benefits in national level of our
reputed organization.
• All the unit should spend 75% of SNA fund exclusively for SNA
activities and student welfare activities in a year and income,
expenditure report should submit to the concerned zonal advisors.
• Unit chairperson and secretary should have access to e-mail of
particular SNA unit.
• Many executives made suggestions for the venues of DHANAK
2024 and SPARTA 2024. These proposals were discussed at the
State GB. However, neither zone showed any interest in occupying
the venue.
• All the zone can conduct Leadership camps for Unit executives
and training programmes for Unit advisors to encourage active
participation in all SNA programme

• SNA diary will be given from national branch as requested by units
directly.
• All units should submit the SNA diary to the zonal advisor before
31st July 2024 and all the zones should submit the SNA diary to the
state advisor before 30th August.
• Individual champion boys and girls will be selected after SPARTA-
2K24 (state level sports meet of the year 2024).
• Kalathilakam, Kalaprathibha(07,08,11,12,15,16,18,19,20,25,26,30) and
Sargaprathibha(items-5,6,9,10,13,14) and Chithraprathibha (1,2,3,4)will
be awarded after DHANAK-2K24 (state level arts and educational
competitions of the year 2024).
• The poster contest will be held simultaneously for all subjects. It is
the responsibility of the unit (zone level) or zone (state level) to
make arrangements who participates in multiple posters. No
additional time or special arrangements will be allowed by the
Zone/State if the Candidate involved in multiple topic posters.
• There will be no time limit disqualifications, time limit warning
lights will be lit on the main stage, and bells will ring on other
stages.The portions which shown after the allowed time will not be
evaluated.
• All students are encouraged to follow the SNA State Facebook
and Instagram pages for updates on SNA&TNAI activities and
student assistance programs. students can sent messages to
SNA- Kerala, Facebook and Instagram pages or by email
snakeralastate@gmail.com

• For all sports competition(Zonal, State) overall championship will


be given to the team with more points in all items including March
past, Football(Boys), Badminton, and Throw ball. Cricket (boys)
and football (girls) points will not be taken into consideration for
the overall title.

• For Unit/Zonal/State level Football competition the maximum


number of players are 7(main players)+5(Substitutes)
• All the participants(including substitutes)of winning team are
eligible to get certificates for group items.
• If any zone haven't got required number of members to
conduct(zonal level) or participate(state level) in any of the item,
no points will be given to any of the college or to the particular
zone.

• There will be losers final for throwbal ,football and cricket.
Winners,first and second runner ups will be getting prizes.
• If any team or individual walk out without participating from any
of the events/fails to attend the event without a considerable
reason, the opposite team/individual can be considered as the
winner of the same.
• Non marking shoes are mandatory for state level badminton
tournament.

• For educational, cultural and games competitions-only one entry


(only those who won the first at zonal level). For sports - single
items, for cultural competitions - personality contests- 1st and 2nd
prize winners can participate.
• There should be at least 3 entries for each item to be conducted at
the state level competitions for boys and girls.
• points secured by MPHW students will not be added for the total
points while considering the Best SNA unit and Zone. Because all
the zones do not have MPHW schools.
• On no occasions the participants will be allowed to repeat their
item, which is staged once except for reason of electricity failure.
• There should be two or three competent judges for evaluation and
their decision will be final in all items of competitions. Result will
be announced by the judges on the spot, as early as possible.
• A display board is used so that the students may know their score
level.
• At the zonal level, there will be separate champions for cultural and
educational competitions.
• There is a single prize to institution rather than to each individual
participant for group items. Certificates and medals will be issued
for individuals.
• Only those who have paid unit, Zonal, State and National level
subscription will be allowed to take part in the state level SNA competition

• Participants are responsible to be present in time at the
competition venue.
• SNA state reserve the right to disqualify teams or colleges if we
receive complaints from zonal advisors about student misconduct
toward teachers, support staff, or judges. All SNA leaders must act
appropriately before, during and after each program.
Only those who are willing to obey rules and regulations are
expected to take part in any SNA competitions or any other
activities. Any member or members who create problem and

behave unruly violating the Rules and Regulations of the
competitions at the Zonal or state level will be liable to be
dismissed from the association. These units will not be allowed to
take part in any SNA activities from then on and for the next one
year. SNA advisor from each unit should accompany the students
to avoid confusion and secure safety of the students.
• Your efforts to uphold the SNA in our state is well appreciated.

the overall development of all Nursing students in our state.

◆ Each team should consist minimum of 25 members,there is no maximum
◆ The winning team of the Zonal sports meet can participate in state level sports
meet.
◆ The maximum number of participants is not specified.
◆ All should maintain uniformity including zonal jersey and same color shoes
◆ According to team preferences, if caps, hand bands etc. are using, all participants
must uniformly use that.
◆ The hand swings and marching must be in uniform direction all over the march
past.
◆ Commanding should be in clear and loud voice.
◆ The team formation must be attractable.
◆ Other general instructions that should be followed in March Past
◆ Attention-standing straight, eyes forward, heels together. The hands should be
held in tight twist with the thumbs aligned with the seam of jersey.
◆ At ease-left foot is moved to shoulder width and the hands are placed behind the
back with arms fully extended. The right hand is placed inside the left.
◆ The participant should be dedicated and accountable.
◆ Selecting the right people to join the team is instrumental to achieving high
quality team work. The right selection leads to winning teams.
◆ The participants should not talk each other till disperse.
◆ All should maintain straight line during March past and the distance between
members should be same.
◆ March past of each group is led by the captain, who holds the zonal flag, followed by the
vice-captain, who will be commanding the group. Two representatives from the group to
carry the zonal name shall be leading in the front, succeeded by their flag bearers.
◆ Judge’s decision is final (no exceptions)
◆ Only the zonal advisor can talk to judges after March past, if any clarification is

march past winning collge cannot attend the state level then the runners up team can particpate , if both
teams are not willing to participate zone can decide the team for marchpast

• Each team will consist of 9 active players and 5 substitutes
• Amatch shall consist of 3 sets for 15 points. If a team wins the first 2 sets,the third
set will not be played
• The right to choose the initial order of serving, receiving and ends shall be decided
by lot and the winner may choose to serve or to receive first/to start at the particular
end.
• Teams will be divided to groups. Knock out rounds starts after each team has played
against the teams in their group.
• Double touch (juggling the ball in both hands) is not allowed while receiving the ball.
• Players cannot catch the ball with the assistance of body or legs.
• The ball should be served without crossing the service line with single hand
• Any ball after catching should be released within 3 sec.
• During the service the ball cannot touch the net.
• A player can jump when throwing the ball or while serving.
• Players cannot touch the net during the play but the ball can touch the net.
• A player while releasing the ball cannot rotate(360 degree) or turn around to throw
the ball During catching or releasing the ball shouldn’t touch any part of body except
the palm.
• Two players cannot catch the ball simultaneously.
• Any ball falling on the side line or end line is a good ball. The service ball should not
touch the pole, then it’s considered as foul. The serving player always rotate in one
position clockwise.
• During the play players cannot cross the net or obstruct the opponent team.
• Two time outs (2min) are permitted for each set.
• Teams can substitutes only when it is their turn to serve, only exception is if a player
get injured, only one person can be substituted at a time upto a maximum of
3substitutes per set.
• Umpire decision is final (no exceptions). Even if it was wrong call from the umpire
the decision stays.
• Only the captain can talk to umpire before or after the serve(not during the play)

ITEM TIME CRITERIA

1.On the 1 hr Size of the Chart - Standard size approx 22’’x


spotpainting 14”. The topic will be announced just before the
competition. Participants should bring their own
materials, but the organizers will provide the
paper.
Only water colors are allowed.
2.Floor decoration 1 hr Size :3x3 feet
(Rangoli) Topic will be given on the spot.
Rangoli should be done using rangoli powder
only. Rice powder also can be used. No other
substances like coconut scrapings, salt, crystal
salts, coffee powder etc are not allowed.
"Arippa" and other tools not allowed.
Participants should bring their own materials for
the event. Use of any reference such as
greetings or printed material is not allowed.

3.Cartoon drawing 30min Size of the chart -standard size approx.22”x


14”.
Subject will be announced just before the
commencement of the competition. The paper
required will be provided by the organizers. The
remaining requisites like pen, pencil etc should
be brought by the participants themselves.
Black sketch can also be used along with black
pen and pencil.

4.Pencil 1 hour Size of the Chart - Standard size approx. 22’’x


sketch 14”. Subject will be announced just before the
commencement of the competitions. The paper
required will be provided by the organizers.
The remaining requisites like pen, pencil etc
should be brought by the participants
themselves.

5.Essay writing – 1 hour Topic : will be given on the spot, word limit is
English 1000.Criteria for evaluation- Introduction,
relevance to the topic, organization of the
content(grammar, language, vocabulary,
spelling), use of examples, current trends,
implications and conclusion.

6.Essay writing – 1 hour Topic :will be given on the spot.


Malayalam Criteria for evaluation- Introduction, relevance
to the topic, organization of the
content(grammar, language, vocabulary,
spelling), use of examples, current trends,
implications and conclusion.

7.Elocution – 5 min Topic : will be given 10 minutes before the


English competition.
Criteria for evaluation: conceptual clarity ,voice
modulation, correctness of language and
development of theme.
8.Elocution – 5 min Topic : will be given 10 minutes before
Malayalam the competition.
Criteria for evaluation: conceptual clarity
,voice modulation, correctness oflanguage
and development of theme.
9.Story Writing – 1 hr Topic : will be given on the spot. Paper will be
English provided Black or Blue ink pen can be used.
Should have an Introduction; Relevance to the
Criteria for evaluation:-Plot construction,
theme, correctness and style of language.
Stories shall be original , not copied /
condensed in any form from other writings.

10.Story Writing – 1 hr Topic : will be given on the spot. Paper will be

Team should comprise of 9 performers
(8+manavalan)only. Performers are to sing
along,performance should be in traditional
form.maximum time 10 mins. It will be
conducted separately for boys.
18.Mimicry 8 min No background music or records. It should not
be insulting to any religion or society. It will be
conducted separately for boys and girls.

19.Folk dance 5 min No film songs. Make up man can be utilized,


–Single but no outsiders including parents and makeup
person should enter in the green room to help

Topics: Ideas depicted in the poster should be

For bringing clarity of the poster, restrict yourself to
one idea relevant to the topic.
The layout of the picture in the poster must be
properly balanced to give a correct sense of
proportion.
Extra fixing of clippings/ cuttings or any other form
on the poster should be avoided.
The poster should depict originality and innovative
ideas.
Only poster color is allowed. If any other
colors, paints, pens etc. are used the poster will
not be considered for evaluation and it will be
disqualified.

RULES OF ENTRY FOR THE COMPETITION
Every institution should have SNAI units and paid the subscription fee for the period
of 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 at Zonal, State and National level.

SNA DIARY (July 2023-July 2024)

There will be separate evaluation of SNA diary for schools, colleges & MPH
Schools. Among these only two outstanding Diaries at the state level are to be
Forwarded to the TNAI Headquarters for National Level Evaluation. . Evaluation
from national level will only take place during national SNA Biennial conference.

Zonal report should be submitted to the state Advisor before August 25th 2024
for final evaluation. Report received after August 25th 2024 will not be
accepted.

Note:-
Unit Advisors
Annual report of the unit should be sent to the zonal advisors in time for evaluation
along with Unit SNA diaries if any on or before July 30th 2024.

Zonal Advisors
After evaluation the unit reports the zonal advisors should send the two best unit annual
reports and 2 best SNA diaries to the state advisor, along with the Zonal report before
the stipulated date for the evaluation of the best Unit and Zone at the State Level. Final
evaluation of the SNA Diary and report is done by state TNAI Executives
