Topic 1: Let’s talk about sports and exercise

I enjoy watching and playing badminton because it doesn’t need too much strength but
requires flexibility, which helps me reduce stress and pressure in life. My favorite
player is Nguyen Tien Minh, a Vietnamese badminton player who reached the 5th
position in the world according to the World Badminton Federation. I admire him
because, even though he faced many failures in his badminton journey, he never gave
up and kept trying hard. I like playing indoors because there is no wind or sun to affect
the match.
Topic 2: Let’s talk about your city
I am currently living in Quy Nhon City, a coastal city in Central Vietnam known for its
natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. I really enjoy the tranquility and friendliness
of the people here, which makes me feel welcome and comfortable. The beach is also
very beautiful. I plan to live here for quite a while because I am currently studying at
university in this city.
Topic 3: Your daily routine.
In the morning, I usually wake up at 5:40 to take care of my personal hygiene, then
change clothes, have breakfast, and go to school. It takes about 10 minutes to get from
home to school, but because I'm afraid of traffic jams, I usually leave early. At school,
I focus on studying in class. After school, I often go to the market to buy food and
prepare lunch. I take a rest at noon. If I have classes in the afternoon, I go back to
school; otherwise, I spend the rest of my time working on my own projects.
Topic 4: What can you tell us about someone’s personality?
I think names can give us a glimpse into a part of a person's personality. For example,
names are often linked to traits like strength, kindness, or intelligence. A person named
"Hai" might be seen as brave and strong because this name makes us think of the wide
ocean, which represents power and freedom. However, it's important to remember that
personality is shaped by many things, including where we live and how we are raised.
Each of us is a unique individual, and while names can suggest certain traits, they do
not fully define who we are.
Topic 5: How to improve your memory
To improve your memory, I think you should eat more fruits and vegetables or take
vitamin D3 supplements. Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals,
which are essential for brain health. It's important to drink enough water—about 2
liters a day—since our bodies are approximately 60% water. Regular exercise also has
a positive impact on brain health; working out daily can increase blood circulation to
the brain and help prevent cerebral anemia. Most importantly, you need to get around 8
hours of sleep each night to allow your brain to rest, which will help it function more
productively.
Topic 6: How to remember English vocabulary
Learning English vocabulary is very important for improving my communication
skills. Every day, I try to memorize about 10 new words. I choose words related to
topics that interest me, such as travel or cuisine, so that they are easier to remember. To
learn effectively, I often use flashcards, writing new words and their meanings on both
sides. In addition, I listen to English music and watch movies with subtitles to see how
words are used in context. This method not only helps me remember words for a
longer time but also makes learning more interesting.
Topic 7: How to be come listener
I believe I am a good listener because I consider listening to be a necessary skill that
everyone should practice and learn. Through listening, we can gain a better
understanding of others' personalities. Good listening skills also enable us to help our
family and friends relieve the pressures of life. I always want my story to be heard and
acknowledged. Everyone has a need to share, so I think we should embrace this and
not ignore it.
Topic 8: Movie
I really enjoy watching movies, especially comedies. These types of films often begin
with funny lines, and by the end, they provide meaningful lessons. I usually watch
them on weekends during my free time, as it allows me to relieve the pressure and
stress of the week. This way, I can start the new week in the best possible mood. I
don’t like watching movies in the cinema, so I typically watch them at home alone.
When I’m at home, I feel very comfortable and can freely express my emotions
without worrying about those around me.
Topic 9: Your family
My family consists of 5 people. My parents, two younger sisters and me. I think the
most interesting person is probably my mother because she often laughs and makes the
whole family happier. I want to live with my family now and in the future I also want
to live with my parents because maybe my parents are the people who love me the
most in this world and so do I.
Topic 10: Music
I like many genres of music. But my favorite is probably instrumental music because
listening to instrumental music can make me feel comfortable and relieve stress the
best. My favorite singer is Brunos because of his musical talent. I like listening to
recorded music because then I can listen to music anytime, anywhere. I usually listen
to music in the evening because then I can relax.
Topic 11: Your university
Quy Nhơn University is where I study. It was established in 1977 and has many
majors, with pedagogy being one of the most important. Quy Nhơn is cool and
peaceful, making it a great place for studying and research. The teachers and students
here are friendly and always willing to help each other when faced with difficulties. I
believe we should work together to grow and improve.
Topic 12: School subject
My favorite subject at school is Literature, and I think it’s the one I do best in because
I love writing. I enjoy sharing my thoughts on paper, and I find it very important in
everyday life. I usually get good grades in this subject. However, math is my
nightmare. I think math is very dry and hard, and I have a tough time solving
problems. I really don’t like this subject at all.
Topic 13: Your happy memory
A few years ago, I went to Da Nang for a week with my family. I made many happy
memories while I was there. We rented a small house by the sea. Early in the morning,
we could watch the sunrise over the white sand and clear blue water. Every day, we
walked along the beach to swim and relax. What I liked most about this place was the
people; everyone was very friendly and nice, and they shared tasty local food with us.
We also walked around Hoi An Ancient Town, which has a lovely old style with its
main yellow color. The food was good, and I really want to go back to Da Nang again.
Topic 14: Pulic transport.
I like buses because they are flexible and easy to use. Buses have many routes, which
makes it simple to go to different places in the city. Also, taking the bus saves money
and helps reduce traffic, which is good for the environment. I often use public
transport to get to school. Everyone should use public transport to help reduce
pollution from cars.
Topic 15: Your country.
Vietnam is a beautiful country with a rich culture and tasty food. I really like pho and
banh mi because they taste great. To make Vietnam a better place, everyone should
help protect the environment by using less plastic and joining clean-up activities.
Supporting the community and focusing on education are also important. Each person
can help make Vietnam more developed and sustainable!
Topic 16: Your study
My favorite subject is literature because I love words, I like the feeling of analyzing
and beautifying words and sentences. And most literary works leave a humanistic
value behind. I don't like physics because it's too abstract and difficult for me. I think
my best subject is literature, I often learn to understand and feel rather than memorize
because I love it so much that I will remember very quickly and for a long time about
information related to literature.
Topic 17: Your name
My name is Doan Huyen Tran, and I really like it. I once asked my parents why they
named me Huyen Tran, and my mother told me that Huyen Tran was the name of a
princess in ancient Vietnam. The story of Huyen Tran is often seen as a symbol of
love, sacrifice, and patriotism. Many Vietnamese people are proud of her name and
what it means in history. My parents hope that I can live freely, comfortably, and
happily like a princess. I want to keep the name they gave me and don’t plan to change
it.
Topic 18: Your university
I am currently a first-year student at Quy Nhon University. I chose Quy Nhon
University for many reasons. First, the school has good teaching with experienced
teachers, which helps students learn better. Second, Quy Nhon is a quiet city with a
nice learning environment and is close to nature. Finally, the tuition fees at Quy Nhon
University are usually affordable, which helps students manage their money. I also
really like the beach in front of the school because it is very beautiful.
Topic 19: Your hometown
My hometown, Hoai Nhon, is a small but very beautiful town. It has fresh air and
many lovely beaches, such as Hoang Hau Beach and Nhon Hai Beach. The people
here are very friendly and hospitable, always ready to welcome visitors. The town is
famous for its specialties, such as banh xeo, grilled mackerel, and fresh seafood. Life
in Hoai Nhon is peaceful and close to nature, making it a great place for those who
love simplicity and relaxation. I am very proud of my hometown and always feel
happy when I return!
Topic 20: Your favourite food
My favorite food is banh mi because of its variety and delicious taste. I like banh mi
thit the most, with its rich flavor of meat, raw vegetables and sauce. This is a dish that
I never get tired of. I also love street food because it brings a sense of closeness and
fun. Street food is often diverse and affordable, helping me explore many different
flavors and experience the local culinary culture.
