Rules For Paper Project Assignment:

1. The steps to create the project
a. Create a team and assigned who becomes the leader and join with the WA group
B.1. Study case paper: to create your Computer Science contribution to society
 Finding the research idea by creating a topic paper which contributes to
your interest in computer science knowledge to help our society current
problems in term of fields such as :
 Learning (history,
 Community (ex: badminton community, young community, religious
community, animal lover, anti-bullying, hair cut art community, food
saving and etc.
 Health: (ex: mobile application for …) for children, for elderly
 Disaster (ex: mobile application for …) earthquake, floods, landslide
 Disable (ex: mobile application for …), blind, deaf
 Transportation
 Traveling and Tourism
1) Mobile apps for river/mountain tourism in Java/Sumatra
2) Mobile apps for Korea/japan tourism
3) Mobile apps for young people/family traveling
4)
 Etc

 Please look at the example at my
https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Harco_Leslie_Hendric_Spits_Warnars2
 Finding the ideas from previous papers interested similar topic by searching
in google scholar (https://scholar.google.com/ )
 You can combine with computer science terms such as cloud computing(fog
computing, dew computing), IoT (but make sure implement the IoT), Data
Warehouse, Big Data, anti-bullyingalgorithm in Machine Learning/Data
Mining/Deep Learning, Game and so on.
 You can propose a model design with a use case diagram for the business
process, activity diagram for each use case activity, class diagram for
database model, and User Interface (UI) as a sample of prototyping.
b. Please do not do plagiarism (cut and paste), if you do so, then your assignment will
be rejected 1000% !!

2. Each group should collect 1 items at the end of the paper project
a. Paper English, minimum of 5 pages
 Using IEEE format template ( search in google ) or access at
https://www.ieee.org/content/dam/ieee-org/ieee/web/org/conferences/
conference-template-a4.docx
 Should content:
1) Introduction
2) Previous and current research
3) Proposed idea
4) Conclusion
3. All the paper should have:
a. Abstract : (in English for paper English)
b. Keywords: (in English for paper English)
2

c. Figures should be clear! (look at the way to write the title of a figure!) and there is
no Bahasa content in paper English!
d. The table should be a table and not a figure! (look at the way to write the title of the
table!) and there is no Bahasa content in paper English!
e. References:
 Only previous 1 to 5 years International journal/ conference
 There are no references for the link website or book!
 Minimum 20 references
 Maximum national conference/journal are 2 papers
 The writing of references should have a similar format where for example
1) for the journal has volume, number, pages, and years.
2) Abbreviation of author names (Johny Andy  J. Andy)
3) All the references should be cited in the paper
4. The rule for the Project paper assignment
a. The first authors should be spared with team members, let say author A as the first
author in Bahasa and B as the first author in English paper
b. Creating WA group for Consultation
 A group will be created where the only the leader of the group should be
listed in that WA group
 The appointment time and a little bit of conversation can be used in that WA
group.
 Each group should do regular consultation is a completed team, make sure
that you print out the latest progress project and each member should on
board, fail to do it, will be eliminated from the group… (0 tolerance for the
free-rider).
 The acceptance of each group working will be qualified based on:
1) The significant regular meeting!
2) The completion of the work!
3) The similarity of both papers in Bahasa or English

5. The rule for adding your Final Test Scoring (..%) and Rule for Project Scoring (..%)
a. Send to my spitswarnars@googlemail.com in last class session
 Scan all of Student’s card group member
 Ms word paper English
1) Again, I will check the similarity of the paper
 Powerpoint presentation
1) Powerpoint in English only
2) The first page is a title, our Fotos and institution
3) Not cut and paste from your paper, but should create the
presentation
4) Max 15 pages
b.
6. Some Advice
a. Abstract.
The abstract must be containing: the purpose of the research, method of the research, value/novelty,
and conclusion.
b. Introduction section.
Explain the context of the study and state the precise objective
An Introduction should contain the following three parts:
 Background: Authors have to make clear what the context is. Ideally, authors should give an
idea of the state-of-the-art of the field the report is about.
 The Problem: If there was no problem, there would be no reason for writing a manuscript, and
definitely no reason for reading it.
So, please tell readers why they should proceed reading. Experience shows that for this part a
few lines are often sufficient.
 The Proposed Solution: Now and only now! – Author’s may outline the contribution of the
manuscript. Here authors have to make sure readers point out what are the novel aspects of
authors' work. The authors should place the paper in the proper context by citing relevant
papers. At least, 10 references (recent journal/conference articles) are used in this section.
3

c. Literature review.
In this session, the author has to explain all of the information related to this study. Remember, a
paper you made not for the dummies, it’s mean you need to explain what the main of information
you have to explain. The references used in the paper must be recent, accurate, and relevant to your
topic. The authors are also suggested to follow proper citation techniques such as paraphrasing or
quotation, if necessary. Please be careful with direct citations, which may lead to the act of
plagiarism.
d. Method.
In this session author have to explain step by step how the method can solve the problems, you have
to explain why you choose this method to solve your problems research.
e. Results and Discussion.
The presentation of results should be simple and straightforward in style. This section reports the
most important findings, including results analyses as appropriate and comparisons to other
research results. This section should be supported by suitable references.
f. Conclusion.
Your conclusion should make your readers glad they read your paper. Summarize sentences the
primary outcomes of the study in a paragraph (NOT in numbering).
g. References and Citations.
We usually expect a minimum of 20 to 25 references primarily to recent journal papers for
research/original paper and review paper, respectively. All the references should be cited in the
paper!
h. Paragraph.
A paragraph is a sentence or group of sentences that support one main idea. Many authors have
presented paragraphs in very long terms. An author should use simple sentences that are
grammatically correct, but too many can make your writing less interesting.
Every paragraph in a paper should be:
 Unified: All of the sentences in a single paragraph should be related to a single controlling
idea (often expressed in the topic sentence of the paragraph).
 Clear: The sentences should all refer to the central idea of the paper.
 Coherent: The sentences should be arranged in a logical manner and should follow a definite
plan for development.
 Well-developed: Every idea discussed in the paragraph should be adequately explained and
supported through evidence and details that work together to explain the paragraph’s
controlling idea.
2. Each group has a maximum 3 students

3. Find some paper from international conference/journal which has topic: Software
Engineering, Object-Oriented and etc. using google scholar.

 Decide what kind of specific topics such as software engineering for disabling,
software engineering for the game, object-oriented in software engineering and etc.
 Find the related papers in google scholar which at least 10 papers.
4

4. Create your review upon those 10 papers using format IEEE

5. Format: IEEE format Template ms word ….(searching this statement using google and
download it !)

Example:
5

 Write Down all your group member in the IEEE Format template ms word

 Don’t forget to put that 10 papers in the paper’s review as seen in the IEEE format
template ms word:
