27. CASE : 1
A student Rajat wants to issue a book from “Spark” Library. So he asks for the charges from the
librarian.
The librarian says that there is a basic charge of ₹ 5 for issuing a book for one day and thereafter ₹ 1 is
charged per day. Rajat has taken a book for x days and the total amount charged by the librarian is ₹ y.

(i) Represent the above situation in linear equation in two variables.
