Position Profile – Display Manager

Title Senior Strategist


Purpose Placed in the heart of the 1HQ team, the purpose of this role is to provide insights, strategy
and conceptual thinking across both current and prospective clients, and to be the point of
contact for Account Handling and Creative Teams for their growing project portfolio.

Reports to Director of Brand Innovation Strategy

Key Area of • To provide a clear, killer insight based upon critical analysis of trends, past research and

• Develop integrated communication and promotional strategies for clients across the
marketing and communication mix.
• Build knowledge of key clients, their market and competitors.
• To identify new, creative and innovative product and communication opportunities.
• Effectively communicate and present recommendations to clients.
• Provide day-to-day client support including working on but not limited to yearly brand
planning, campaign evaluation, new business pitches, award entries and agency
credentials.
• Develop creative platforms and opportunities for brands and their innovation,
communication and promotional strategies, working with a variety of different clients
including brand, packaging, retail, advertising and digital.
• Shape and formulate standout creative ideas and solutions.
• Conduct ethnographies, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and workshops.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks in connection with the job function, as requested by
your manager.

Technical Career Experience


Competencies • At least 1 year experience of working with FMCG clients
• Personally moderated a minimum of ten ethnographies/ in-depth interviews and a
minimum of five focus groups
• Management of at least 2 external client relationships
• Creation of written concepts on at least three separate brands
• Fresh eyes category analysis and opportunity identification on at least three brands (min
1 from FMCG)
• Facilitation of least one client workshop
• Led at least three client projects from start to finish
Qualifications
• Degree educated
Required Skills
• Ability to understand what a brand stands for and how it influences brand
communications and the brief to the agency.
• Ability to ask probing and asking questions to determine the root causes of problems and
to solve these in an effective and efficient way.
• An ability to work individually as well as within a team in order to deliver excellent
original, conceptual and creative output.
• Experience of leading new business pitches and develop client relationships to generate
repeat business.
• Ability to analyse and interpret insight to identify the right creative strategy and approach
for our client’s brands.
• The ability to delegate effectively across the team
• Ability to identify appropriate research methodologies and communicate these effectively
to clients and suppliers
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing client demands and relationships
• Ability to execute a range of innovation and brand strategy approaches
