1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub- parts of
the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3
marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in
the 2marks questions of Section E

Draw the graph of the following pair of linear equations: x –2y + 1 = 0, 2x + 3y – 12 = 0. Find
the solution of the equations from the graph and shade the triangular region formed by the
lines and the x –axis.

28. A circle is touching the side BC of ∆ ABC at P and touching AB and AC produced

32. Prove that if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two
sides at distinct points, then the other two sides are divided in the same ratio . And
In the given figure A, B and C are points on OP, OQ and OR respectively such that
AB || PQ and AC || PR. Show that BC || QR

Through the mid-point M of the side CD of a parallelogram ABCD, the line BM is


drawn intersecting AC in L and AD (produced) in E. Prove that EL = 2BL.

33. A solid consisting of a right circular cone of height 120 cm and radius 60 cm standing on
a hemisphere of radius 60 cm is placed upright in a right circular cylinder full of water such
that it touches the bottom. Find the volume of water left in the cylinder, if the radius of the
cylinder is 60 cm and its height is 180 cm.

34. The mode of the following frequency distribution is 55 .Find the missing frequencies
a and b, where the sum of the frequencies is 51.

35. A train travels a distance of 90km at a constant speed. Had the speed been 15 km/h more,
it would have taken 30minutes less for the journey. Find the original speed of the train.

A pole has to be erected at a point on the boundary of a circular park of diameter 13m in such
a way that the difference of its distances from two diametrically opposite fixed gates A and B
on the boundary is 7m. Is it possible to do so? If yes at what distances from the two gates
should the pole be erected?

Section-E
Case study based questions are compulsory.
36. Shown below is the map of Giri’s neighbourhood.
Giri did a survey of his neighbourhood and collected the following information:
* The hotel, mall and the main gate of the garden lie in a straight line.
* The distance between the hotel and the mall is half the distance between the mall and the
main gate of the garden.
* The bus stand is exactly midway between the main gate of the garden and the fire station.
* The mall, bus stand and the water tank lie in a straight line.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:


(i) What are the coordinates of the fire station?
(ii) What is the shortest distance between the main gate and the north gate?
(iii) What is the x-coordinate of the mall’s location?

How much more is the shortest distance of the school from the Water tank
than the distance of the school from the police station?
37. Manpreet Kaur is the national record holder for women in the shot-put discipline. Her
throw of 18.86m at the Asian Grand Prix in 2017 is the maximum distance for an Indian
female athlete. Keeping her as a role model, Sanjitha is determined to earn gold in Olympics
one day. Initially her throw reached 7.56m only. Being an athlete in school, she regularly
practiced both in the mornings and in the evenings and was able to improve the distance by
9cm every week. During the special camp for 15 days, she started with 40 throws and every
day kept increasing the number of throws by 12 to achieve this remarkable progress.
(i) How many throws Sanjitha practiced on 11th day of the camp?
(ii) What would be Sanjitha’s throw distance at the end of 6 weeks?
(iii) How many throws did she do during the entire camp of 15 days ?

(iv) How many throws did she do during the camp of 12 days ?
38. One evening, Kaushik was in a park.Children were playing cricket.Birds were singing on
a nearby tree of height 80m. He observed a bird on the tree at an angle of elevation of 45°.

When a sixer was hit, a ball flew through the tree frightening the bird to fly away. In 2
seconds, he observed the bird flying at the same height at an angle of elevation of 30° and
the ball flying towards him at the same height at an angle of elevation of 60°.

(i)At what distance from the foot of the tree was he observing the bird sitting on the tree?

(ii)What is the speed of the bird in m/min if it had flown 20(√3 + 1) m?

(iii) How far did the bird fly in the mentioned time?
(or)
After hitting the tree, how far did the ball travel in the sky when Kaushik saw the ball?
