Scale Computing offers a comprehensive hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform

designed to simplify IT management, increase scalability, and ensure high availability. Here are
the key features and benefits of Scale Computing's platform based on recent test reports and
user reviews:

Key Features: -
1. SC//Platform:
• Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI): Integrates servers, storage, and virtualization into
a single, streamlined platform, reducing the need for multiple vendors and complex integration
processes.
• High Availability: Ensures continuous operation even if individual components fail,
which is crucial for businesses that cannot afford downtime.
• Scalability: Allows businesses to start small and expand their infrastructure without
significant disruptions or forklift upgrades.
2. SC//HyperCore:
• Integrated Management: Combines software, servers, and storage into a fully integrated
platform, simplifying the management of virtual environments.
• Efficient Resource Usage: Optimizes resources through a streamlined interface,
reducing the complexity typically associated with traditional IT silos.
3. SC//Fleet Manager:
• Cloud-Hosted Monitoring: Provides an industry-first cloud-hosted tool for managing
and monitoring hyperconverged infrastructure at scale. It offers a centralized view of the health
and status of the entire infrastructure.
• Ease of Use: Features a user-friendly GUI, making it easy for IT staff to manage and
monitor clusters and workloads efficiently.

SC//Platform and SC//HyperCore Features

Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI):
Integrated System: SC//HyperCore combines compute, storage, and virtualization into a
single, easy-to-manage solution. This reduces the complexity and cost typically associated with
traditional IT setups that use separate servers, storage, and networking components (Scale
Computing).
Self-Healing and Automation: The platform uses patented self-healing technology to identify
and correct issues automatically, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. This is particularly
useful for organizations with limited IT resources (Scale Computing).
Scalability:
Flexible Scaling: Users can scale storage and compute resources independently based on their
specific needs. This is achieved through adding SC//HyperCore nodes configured either for
storage or compute-heavy tasks, allowing for a tailored expansion strategy without unnecessary
licensing costs (Scale Computing).
Data Protection and Disaster Recovery:

Backup and Replication: SC//Hyper Core includes native tools for VM backup, replication,
and disaster recovery. It supports incremental backups, failover, and restoration, ensuring that
data is protected and can be quickly recovered in case of failures.
Cloud Integration: The SC//Platform Cloud Unity provides a cloud-based backup and disaster
recovery solution. VMs can be run directly from the cloud in disaster scenarios, providing
continuity until on-premises systems are restored.

Virtual Machine (VM) Management:

Simplified VM Management: The platform allows for easy creation, deployment, and
management of VMs. It supports a variety of operating systems and applications, making it
versatile for different use cases, including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
Third-Party Backup Compatibility: While SC//HyperCore offers comprehensive native backup
solutions, it is also compatible with third-party backup tools like Veeam, Acronis, and
Storware, providing flexibility for users who prefer these solutions.

Benefits: -
1. Simplified IT Management: The unified platform design and integrated tools reduce
the time and effort required for IT management, allowing IT staff to focus on strategic
initiatives rather than routine maintenance (Scale Computing).
2. Cost-Effective: Scale Computing's solution is noted for its affordability and value for
money, with competitive pricing and no additional licensing required for scaling up.
3. Reliability and Performance: The platform is designed to provide high performance and
reliability, ensuring critical applications remain operational even in the event of hardware
failures. This is particularly beneficial for sectors like healthcare and education that demand
uninterrupted service.
4. Edge Computing: Scale Computing is also optimized for edge computing
environments, supporting distributed edge locations with robust infrastructure and easy
deployment.\

ADVANCED BACKUP SERVICES

Acronis QuickStart Service: -
Acronis agentless backup for Scale Computing Platform allows for full virtual machine backup
and fast recovery for systems.
The Acronis QuickStart Service configures one Windows or Linux physical or virtual workload
on a virtual machine running on SC//HyperCore. This is a kickstart for customers who plan to
implement a backup strategy with other servers on SC//HyperCore to a secondary recovery
location and want to ensure they understand how to use Acronis Agentless Backup software
successfully to validate their backup solution.
Service includes:
Initial discovery and planning
Management server setup, license application to management server, Acronis Agentless Backup
for SC//Platform setup
Create and apply a protection plan to imported VM.
Backup test run on protected VM.
User Feedback: -
Users have praised Scale Computing for its user-friendly interface and reliable performance.
For instance, the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township benefited from the
simplified management and reliability of the platform, significantly reducing downtime and
maintenance efforts. Additionally, organizations like the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and
various school districts have reported positive experiences, emphasizing the ease of expansion
and minimal disruption during upgrades.
Overall, Scale Computing offers a robust, scalable, and easy-to-manage HCI solution that is
well-suited for various industries, particularly those requiring high availability and efficient IT
operations.
