Scale Computing
Scale Computing
designed to simplify IT management, increase scalability, and ensure high availability. Here are
the key features and benefits of Scale Computing's platform based on recent test reports and
user reviews:
Key Features: -
1. SC//Platform:
• Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI): Integrates servers, storage, and virtualization into
a single, streamlined platform, reducing the need for multiple vendors and complex integration
processes.
• High Availability: Ensures continuous operation even if individual components fail,
which is crucial for businesses that cannot afford downtime.
• Scalability: Allows businesses to start small and expand their infrastructure without
significant disruptions or forklift upgrades.
2. SC//HyperCore:
• Integrated Management: Combines software, servers, and storage into a fully integrated
platform, simplifying the management of virtual environments.
• Efficient Resource Usage: Optimizes resources through a streamlined interface,
reducing the complexity typically associated with traditional IT silos.
3. SC//Fleet Manager:
• Cloud-Hosted Monitoring: Provides an industry-first cloud-hosted tool for managing
and monitoring hyperconverged infrastructure at scale. It offers a centralized view of the health
and status of the entire infrastructure.
• Ease of Use: Features a user-friendly GUI, making it easy for IT staff to manage and
monitor clusters and workloads efficiently.
Backup and Replication: SC//Hyper Core includes native tools for VM backup, replication,
and disaster recovery. It supports incremental backups, failover, and restoration, ensuring that
data is protected and can be quickly recovered in case of failures.
Cloud Integration: The SC//Platform Cloud Unity provides a cloud-based backup and disaster
recovery solution. VMs can be run directly from the cloud in disaster scenarios, providing
continuity until on-premises systems are restored.
Simplified VM Management: The platform allows for easy creation, deployment, and
management of VMs. It supports a variety of operating systems and applications, making it
versatile for different use cases, including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
Third-Party Backup Compatibility: While SC//HyperCore offers comprehensive native backup
solutions, it is also compatible with third-party backup tools like Veeam, Acronis, and
Storware, providing flexibility for users who prefer these solutions.
Benefits: -
1. Simplified IT Management: The unified platform design and integrated tools reduce
the time and effort required for IT management, allowing IT staff to focus on strategic
initiatives rather than routine maintenance (Scale Computing).
2. Cost-Effective: Scale Computing's solution is noted for its affordability and value for
money, with competitive pricing and no additional licensing required for scaling up.
3. Reliability and Performance: The platform is designed to provide high performance and
reliability, ensuring critical applications remain operational even in the event of hardware
failures. This is particularly beneficial for sectors like healthcare and education that demand
uninterrupted service.
4. Edge Computing: Scale Computing is also optimized for edge computing
environments, supporting distributed edge locations with robust infrastructure and easy
deployment.\
