Grade Level Standard In this lesson, students will demonstrate an understanding of the special characteristics of
plants. Students will carry out simple investigations. Students will also compare and
classify plants by shape, texture, size, color and using standard English units of
measurement where appropriate.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the discussion, the learners are expected to:
Identify the parts of the plants
Compare the different types of plants
Show appreciation to the plants by telling its importance

B. Activity
Activity: Identify the characteristics of the given parts of the plant according their color and
size.
Parts of the Plant Color Size (Big/Small)

4. Flowers White Small
5. Fruit Red Big
C. Analysis
Guide Question:
1. What plants did you observe?
2. What are the different parts of a plant?
3. What new things have you learned today?
D. Abstraction
Discussion of the new lesson it’s all about Different Parts of the Plants and its function.
1. Roots- The roots are like straws that suck up water and nutrients from soil for healthy growth.
2. Stem- The stem is like a pipe carrying water filled with nutrients from root to other parts.
3. Leaves- Leaves make food for themselves through photosynthesis using sunlight absorbed by
green pigments called chlorophyll found inside its cells while also creating oxygen during this
process.
4. Flower- Flowers attract pollinators with their bright colors so that seeds can form new
offspring (fruit) which will continue cycle again after seed dispersion within suitable
environment.
E. Application
The teacher will divide the class into tree and each group will making an Art Plant using
colored paper. They will cut stem, flower, leaves, fruit and roots.
F. Generalization
Plants provide us with and plants have a different parts those are: roots ,
leaves, and fruits.
