Name and Formula: Natl. Bur. Stand. (U.S.) Monogr. 25, 18, 59, (1981)

The document provides information on hot pressed silicon nitride (HPSN), including its empirical formula of N4Si3, crystal structure parameters, and density. It was prepared by heating silicon nitride to 1785°C for an hour under pressure. The document also includes a peak list with 60 diffraction peaks for HPSN with corresponding Miller indices, d-spacings, angles, and intensities.

The sample was prepared at NBS, Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA,
by J. Waring by heating Si3N4 obtained from GTE Products,
Towanda, Pennsylvania, USA to 1785 C for 1 hour at 15 psig.
The sample was contained in a Si3N4 crucible within a
molybdenum crucible.
