2046 End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco 1720 Modular Access Router
Cisco announces the end-of-life of the Cisco 1720 Modular Access Router. The Cisco 1720 Modular Access Router has been extremely successful at delivering superior performance, powerful services such as security and investment protection to small and medium businesses (SMB) and branch office customers since its release. As customers continue to transition to products like the Cisco 1721 and the Cisco 1760 modular access routers, which offer increased performance, additional memory capacity and supported services, sales for the Cisco 1720 router have steadily decreased. Therefore, the Cisco 1720 Modular Access Router is set for End-of-Sale on August 1, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until August 1, 2008. Table 1 describes milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 1720 Modular Access Router. Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 1721 Modular Access Router, which offers higher performance, additional functionality, and increased memory capacity over the Cisco 1720 router at the same price. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating to the Cisco 1721 Modular Access Router.
