His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaj

His Holiness Tridandi Biksu Jayapataka Swami Maharaja has been serving Srila Prabhupada as a selfless worker over the last 43 years. Jayapataka Swami was born on April 9, 1949 in USA. He is an all-rounder. There could hardly be any place in the world that he has not travelled for spreading Krishna Consciousness. Accepting any service that is given to him, as the order of guru, Krishna and sadhus, His Holiness does them all with love as an offering to his eternal spiritual master Om Visnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajaka Acharya 108 Sri Srimad A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. HH Jayapataka Swami, also GBC Karnataka has repeatedly mentioned about expanding Lord Caitanya's sankirtan movement in Karnataka, especially Bengaluru. His Holiness said that "Bengaluru is known as Silicon city, this should change; it should become ISKCON City. http://www.jpsoffice.info/

Bhakti Vriksha trains people to establish temple worship in their households, to practice Krishna Consciousness at home making it the predominant feature of their lives. On the whole Bhakti Vriksha groups provide the most important element to spread Krishna Consciousness in an exponential way. Caitanya Mahaprabhu says: "I order every man within this universe to accept this Krishna Consciousness movement and distribute it everywhere". (Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila 9.36). So lets join together, practice, preach and make our life sublime. Hare-Krishna. For more details, please contact Srivas Krsna Caitanya

Bhakta Prahlad School

Bhakti Vriksha
Bhakti Vriksha is an extension of temple, which is comprised of a small group of congregational devotees. Its a gathering which happens once in a week in order to practice, to grow and to preach the process of Bhakti Yoga. Its like a little family unit within the greater community of the temple. This unit keeps the groups small, maintaining an intimate atmosphere of love and care system. A Bhakti Vriksha group focuses on discussion, personal and informal association and working as a team for preaching and other spiritual activities.

This is a Vedic training program for children, which gives them an insight into our vast cultural and spiritual heritage by way of moral stories, slokas, devotional songs, craft and other creative activities. There are two courses for children depending on their age group: Junior course: age group 5-9yrs. The books for this course teach pastimes of Lord Krishna together with enlivening teaching aids such as drawings, paintings etc. Senior Course: age group 10-15yrs. The books for this course teach pastimes of Lord Krishna together with their morals, Vaishnava songs and etiquette, important slokas and prayers and assignment questions The classes are held from June through to March on every Saturday between 4.30pm and 6pm. The school conducted a program called Balotsav 2011 on the auspicious month of Karthik. The children portrayed their talents in singing, dancing, sloka recitation and enacting in Damodhar Lila showcasing the importance of Karthik month. For more details, please contact Mrs.Aparna @

Book Distribution
Devotees look for various opportunities to distribute books. They try to organize the book distribution program in the following ways: 1) Distributing books in various Public Libraries 2) Educational institutions 3) Festival gatherings 4) Public places 5) Trains 6) Airports 7) Bus stands 8) Markets 9) Pandal programs 10) House programs 11) Pada yatra 12) Gift shops 13) Books are given as gifts to Life Patrons of ISKCON

Srila Prabhupada explains in a lecture We are printing so many books. For spreading this knowledge, that must be distributed. Home to home, place to place, man to man, this literature must go there. If one takes one book, at least one day he'll read it: "Let me see what this book I have purchased the other day is." And if he reads one line his life will be successful, if he reads one line only, carefully. This is such literature. So therefore book distribution I am giving so much stress. Somehow or other, small book or big book, if it is given to somebody he'll read someday... - [Bhagavad-gita 16.1-3 Hawaii, January 29, 1975]

A team of devotees at the Sankirtan Department distribute books through various channels: 1) Book stall inside the temple: Pilgrims visit Sri Nava Narasimha Temple daily. They all get an opportunity to have a look at Srila Prabhupadas books displayed at the Book stall in the temple. There one will find all of the books written or translated by Srila Prabhupada in nearly all major Indian languages.

Books are the Basis, Utility is the Principle, Preaching is the Essence, Purity is the Force --- Srila Prabhupada

ISKCON Youth Forum [IYF]

Youth is the driving force of human society. The society has made rapid progress in the field of material comforts, education and economic development throughout the entire world. But there is a pinprick somewhere in the social body at large, and therefore there are large-scale quarrels, even over less important issues. There is need of a clue as to how humanity can become one in peace, friendship and prosperity with a common cause. Youth can bring about this change that the society is hankering for. ISKCON Youth Forum (IYF) is the youth wing of International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON'S Founder Acharya, always wanted young Indians to take up Krishna Consciousness very seriously in their own lives and help to spread it all over the world, fulfilling the order of Lord Caitanya. IYF offers a nourishing package of lifestyle management to keep the body and soul in good shape and provides a meaningful purpose to students' academic pursuits. Inevitably, the younger generation blossoms to become an asset to the society.

ISKCON Vaishnavis Forum [IVF]

A unique and exclusive forum for young girls, in fact not just girls but, Vaishnavi's. Vaishnavi means female devotees of lord Krishna. A fun place for girls to learn the scriptures and implement them in their daily lives. This is one of the very active forums of the temple, where more than 50 girls get together every weekend. IVF is apt for girls from different cultural and professional backgrounds. All working, studying and young home makers are all an integral part of this forum currently. IVF is definitely a place for multiple talents and renders a wide range of opportunities. On a regular basis Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and other important books of Srila Prabhupada are discussed, encouraging the girls to ask questions and enquire about various subject matters, making the sessions more interactive. Girls also learn to sing kirtan's, various musical instruments like Mrdanga, Kartala, and also participate in dance and drama for the temple festivals. Regular one day trips are also organized which offers them a very spiritually pleasant and enlightening experience.

Where Tradition becomes a trend.

These activities are lovingly done for the pleasure of the Supreme personality, the most beautiful and admirable Lord Sri Krishna, the very reason we are called "Vaishnavi's". Learning to love and serve the lord, in the best ways possible, using the best of each one's talent to please the ultimate enjoyer, learning and practicing spiritual values couldnt have been more fun. ISKCON Vaishnavi forum is the place to be. For more details, please contact Radha Priya

To add to all this cooking, stitching, garland making, temple hall interior decorating, Girls forum event management, and so much more is offered. Girls are welcome to add new ideas to the forum at all times. But... all this with a difference or call it the trendsetter.

In Bhagavad-gita we find that women are also equally competent like the men in the matter of Krishna Consciousness Movement.

Sri Giridhari Goraksha Goshala

Goseva means serving the cows. A person who daily touches a cow after taking bath becomes liberated from all sinful reactions. Those who smear themselves with the dust from the hooves of the cow are said to have taken bath in all holy places. Such people become free from all types of sin. Padma Purna, Sristi Cows are the mothers of all creatures. Cows are verily the mothers of the 33 crores of demigods that administrate creation in the material existence throughout all the universes. Cows are the goddesses of the gods and the refuge of all auspiciousness. Cows bestow every kind of happiness and for these reason they are always worshipable. Cows are the support of all the worlds for by their milk they nourish terrestrial beings and, by their ghee offered in sacrifice they nourish the denizens of the celestial realms. Nothing is superior to cows. Vedas Cow killers and cow eaters are condemned to rot in hell for as many thousands of years as there are hairs on the body of every cow they eat from. Caitanya Mahaprabhu (Sri Caitanya Caritamrita adi lila, 17.166) O cows, you strengthen even the worn-out and fatigued and make the unlovely beautiful to look on. Your lowing is auspicious, and makes my dwelling prosperous. Great is the abundance that is attributed to you in our religious ceremony. Rig Veda Our mission is to care for stray, abandoned cows, bulls, retired oxen, and orphaned calves. We provide them hay, flour, fresh grass, clean water, medical attention and a place where they can recuperate from injuries and stay peacefully. At present we host herd 4 cattle. But there are thousands of cattle requiring attention and unless protected, they are destined to subsist on refuse and become plagued by various debilitating and often terminal diseases, suffer injury from careless motorists, or worse, be abducted and transported in very inhumane ways to the growing number of modern slaughterhouses. 1. Taking care of sick cows 2. Rescue cows that are going to Slaughter houses 3. Adopt Bulls/ox who cannot be reared by owners 4. Cow Worship 5. Workshops on Cow protection and benefits from Desi/Indigenous Cows. Thus, there is an urgent need to act. You can participate by helping. Here is how you can help. Sponsor Krishna's cows and obtain boundless mercy! Every month you can donate some little amount of money which is affordable by you and make Go-Seva a life time service to Gandharvika Giridharis Cows. For more details, please contact

Kumbabhishekam and Prana-pratishta

Kumbhabhishekam is a temple ritual that is performed to homogenize, synergize and unite the mystic powers of the deity. Kumbha means the Head and denotes the Shikhara or Gopuram of the Temple and, Abhishekam means Ritual bathing. On the appointed day and, at an auspicious time, the Kumbha is bathed with the charged and sanctified holy waters in the sacrificial pot and, by a mystic process, these pranic powers trickle down a silver wire and enter the deity installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The deity which was until only granite sculptured stone image, is believed to transform into a vibrant and vivid living representation of the Lord with innate beauty, grace and grandeur, conferring divine blessings on all devotees.

Prana means breath and Pratishta means establishing, and so the Prana-pratishta ceremony is literally establishing the breath within the sacred image. Prana-pratishta can be understood like an agreement established between the Deity and the devotees: the Deity agrees to descend into the sacred image and, the devotees agree to care for the Deity in the form of service.

. for anything offered to Krishna with love and affection, Krishna can reciprocate many millions of times over, both materially and spiritually. The basic principal involved is an exchange of love. We can cook for Krishna, a builder can build a nice temple for Krishna, an accountant can do financial work for Krishna, an artist can paint pictures of Krishna, a gardener can grow nice flowers for Krishna, and in fact almost any skill can be used in the service of Krishna. The result will be liberation from the suffering conditions of the material world

Govindas
-karma free food

We are basically Bhajan singers at Sri Nava Narasimha Temple. Ethno-Rock/Metal has always been an expression for us as it symbolizes youth, energy and freedom. All these characteristics define us entirely at this age. Spiritual inclination has no age limits, the sooner the better. It is said even one lifetime is enough to attain perfection. Youth today is perplexed and disoriented in his approach primarily because of lack of faith and devotion in self and the Supreme. Self-realization is the key to God-realization.

Inspired by ancient India, Govindas provide fresh, nutritious meals at affordable prices. We serve a wide variety of pure vegetarian cuisine which is freshly cooked on the premises throughout the day. All of our products are meat, fish and egg free. We do not use onions, garlic or mushrooms. When you walk into Govindas, you are amidst an oasis of tranquility, health and balance. We present you with sattvic food which goes beyond vegetarianism and awakens the soul to its original purpose. Karma Free Diet All our preparations are first offered to Lord Krishna before being served and are thus called prasadam which means the Mercy of God. Dine in Govindas for a truly blessed and karma-free experience!
