    Anything can be written into articles
    Online media sources battle for your
    clicks by using sensational or
    provocativeheadlines
    In-depth analysis are few and far
    between

    Definition: individuals unconsciously misperceive or
    distort information to support their current beliefs or
    attitudes on a subject.
    Echo chamber: information are amplified or reinforced
    by repetition inside an "enclosed" system, where
    different or competing views aredisallowed
    Facebook users tended to choose and share stories
    containing messages they accept, and to neglect those
    they reject.

    Does Facebook has a political agenda?


    In May 2016, Facebook was accused of
    intentionally suppressing conservative
    articles from appearing on trending topics
    Facebook denied allegations of political bias
    A few months later, the trending team was
    replaced by algorithms

    How do you separate truth from lies on the internet
    Are Facebook, Google, etc. neutral tech companies as
    they claim, or they actively try to shape the way people
    think?
    Do you think your opinions are heavily influenced by social
    media?

    New media is on the rise
    New media reach millions of people in matter of seconds
    and facilitate massive interaction
    Internet users should be cautious not to fall prey to
    misinformation, and be aware of their own biases, as
    well as giant tech companies agendas
