PMS (Premarital Sex)
Refers to having sexual intercourse before marriage. Includes different forms of sexual behaviour such as: * holding hands * embracing * kissing * necking * petting * and sexual intercourse Decision on PMS would depend on: * Personalities of the couple • * Their emotional constitution • * Their social situations
However, decision should be based on critical thinking
and not on emotional rationalization. Disadvantages of PMS 1. It can create more problems than what the people involved can handle/solve. 2. Possibility of the woman becoming pregnant. 3. Mental anguish might be experienced by the female, produces guilt. 4. PMS may increase the chances of STDs. 5. Losses the meaning of the precious mystery of “honeymoon’’. Merits of NOT Engaging in PMS A. SEX is beautiful and is worth protecting. “Biological and Biblical Beauties of SEX” It enables us to evolve and adapt to our environment through the passing of genes. The mechanism of sex makes sure that the offspring is well taken care of. Life becomes possible. It is a very high expression of love for one person to another. B. To protect from suspicion and to provide trust.
C. To protect virginity.
D. To protect from sexual addiction.
E. To protect from fear of STDs.
F. LOVE : the bottom line for waiting.
Ways to Cope with the Pressure By talking out the limitations of partners in a relationship. Couples to develop non-sexual activities together. Avoiding places of temptation. Balance living. “Everybody’s doing it” “If your normal, let’s try it” “If you love me, prove it”
” Say NO” “Let not be controlled by feelings coz’ love can wait and it takes time”. Just say “No, No, and I mean NO!!! END
