What is BUDGET????

The word “Budget” has been derived from the French


word “Bougette” which means a small bag. It
symbolises a bag contaning the financial proposals. In
other terms, a budget is an organzational plan stated
in monetary terms.

The use of this term “budget” for the annual financial


plans of the government dates back to 1733.In general
a “Budget’ shows the financial accounts of the
previous years ,the budget and revised estimates of
the current year, and the budget estimates for the
coming year.
