Topic?
A topic is the one thing the whole paragraph is about.
It is the unifying factor, which every sentence and idea
contained in the paragraph relate to.
It is also be defines as the word or phrase that best
describes what all of the sentences in the paragraph are
about.

Make the writer easier to elaborate the ideas.
Make the reader easier to understand what is the text
talking about.
Main Idea VS Topic
The topic is what the sentence or the paragraph is about while the main idea is what
the writer is trying to say in his entire message.
Topics are simpler and only use a word or a phrase; the main idea is stated as an
entire sentence.
The topic must not be specific nor should it be general while the main idea must be
complete.
The main idea may appear in the beginning, the middle, or the last part of the
paragraph while the topic can be found in the sentence or in a paragraph
Another term for the main idea is topic sentence while the topic is simply called topic.

If there is only one paragraph, we only need to read the
first and second line. If there are more than one paragraph,
we should just focus on the first paragraph.
Look for the keyword that often appear in the paragraph.
Remember that topic is consist of a word or phrase
(group of words).
