•Create Lines Rectangle

•Pick starting corner for the rectangle—or enter X,Y > input 0 0 > Enter

•Pick opposite corner for the rectangle—or enter X,Y > input 0.04 0.08 > Enter
•Esc > Done

•Then, it will appear an image like this


•Module: Property

•Create Material
•Give the name “soil”
•Give the property
•Mechanical > Elasticity > Elastic
• Young Modulus 10.000 kPa
• Poissons Ratio 0.3

• Plasticity > Mohr Coulomb Plasticity


 Friction Angle 30

 Cohesion 10

 Press OK
•Create Section
• Give the name
• Solid Homogeneous
• Press Continue
• Select material we have created earlier “soil”
• Press OK
•Assign Section
• Select Part
• Block all region
• “The color will be changed”
• Press Done
•Press OK
•Module: Assembly

•Create Instance

•Press OK
•Module: Step

•Create Step
• Give the name “Load”
• Procedure type: General
• Static, General
• Press Continue
•A window will be opened
•Press “Other” tab
• Matrix storage: Unsymmetric

•Press OK
•Module: Load

•Create Boundary Condition

• Step: Intial
• Mechanical
• Displacement/Rotation
• Press Continue
•Select region for the boundary condition
•Click the bottom part of the field “the color will be changed to orange
•Press Done
•Then a window will appear
• Select U2
•Create another Boundary Condition
• Step: Load
• Mechanical
• Displacement/Rotation
• Continue
• Click the bottom part of the field “the color will be changed to orange”
• Select U2
• Input: 0.008 m

8 cm x 10% = 0.8 cm = 0.008 m


•Module: Mesh

•Choose Part
•Mesh > Controls...
• Element Shape: Quad
• Technique: Structured
• The color will be changed
•Mesh > Element Type
• Family: Plane Strain
• Uncheck “Reduce integration”
• Press OK
•Seed Part
• Global Seeds window will appear
• Approximate global size: 0.008
• Press OK
• Seeding definition complete “Press Done”
•Mesh > Part
•OK to mesh the part? “Yes”
•Module: Job
• Create Job
• Press Continue
• Press OK


•Job Manager
• Submit
• Wait until Status become “Completed”
• Press Result or Module: Visualization

•Choose Primary, S, S22


•The result will be...
