Anda dikehendaki meneliti dan menganalisis suatu isu


dalam pengajaran, pentaksiran, pengurusan makmal/bilik
darjah, atau pembelajaran mata pelajaran RBT.

Berdasarkan suatu isu yang telah anda pilih, cadangkan


penyelesaian menggunakan teori atau model berkaitan.

Anda dikehendaki membentangkan tugasan ini pada


minggu ke-6.

Three of the key tasks of this course are to:

1. build up own knowledge and understanding of effective


teaching.

2. develop the key skills involved in classroom teaching

3. critically reflect upon and evaluate own teaching

Effective teaching can be defined as teaching that can


successfully achieves the learning by pupils intended by
the teacher.

Two simple elements to effective teaching:

1. The teacher must have a clear idea of what learning is


to be fostered

2. A learning experience is set up and delivered that


achieves this

A basic framework about effective teaching consists of


three main classes of variables:
1. Context variables – all those characteristics of the
context of the learning activity, usually a classroom-
based lesson, which may have some bearing on the
success of the learning activity.

2. Process variables – what actually goes on in the


classroom, and deals with the perceptions, strategies
and behaviour of the teacher and pupils, and
characteristics of the learning tasks and activities
themselves, and how these interact with each other.
Such variables include teacher’s enthusiasm, clarity of explanations, use of questions,
use of praise and criticism, management strategies, disciplinary techniques, classroom
climate, organization of the lesson, suitability of learning tasks, type of feedback pupils
receive, pupils involvement in the lesson, pupil initiated interaction with teacher, pupils’
strategies for learning.

3. Product variables – all those educational outcomes that


are desired by teachers to have formed a basis of
teachers’ planning of lessons and criteria they use or
others use to judge effectiveness.

The most important educational outcomes for pupils would appear to be


increased - knowledge and skills; interest in the subject or topic; intellectual
motivation; academic self-confidence and self-esteem; autonomy; and social
development.

Teaching is the aspect of curriculum development that


focuses on organizing to deliver instruction.

Teaching defines as the science of creating detailed


specifications for development of evaluations and
maintenance of situations which facilitate the learning of both
large and small units of subject matter.

Teaching focuses on the design or selection of teaching


strategies or methods that increase the likelihood of learning –
combination of teaching practices and assessment
techniques.

Three major schools of thought that teaching will be


influenced by: behaviourism, cognitivism and constructivism.
