    Overview

    • CA SymDump for CICS is a comprehensive online facility that helps to


    quickly identify and resolve CICS based application failures

    • It presents dumps in an easy-to-read source statement format and aids in


    resolving problems in production.

    • It intercepts CICS abends and helps to identify source statement which


    triggered the abend, identifying the values of data items and providing
    formatted displays of trace information.

    Capturing Transaction Dumps
    The CA SymDump for CICS Configuration menu allows to set or
    update parameters for capturing dumps.
    Select option 3 on CA SymDump for CICS Primary Option menu

    Select the dumps
    Specify the dump file name PROTDMP to select dumps using
    the Dump/Trace Analysis screen .

    Select the dumps
    CA SymDump for CICS lists the dumps from the dump file
    PROTDMP that meet criteria from Dump/Trace Selection
    screen. Type S to select required transaction dump OS7C
