• Labelling : It is the process of fixing labels on
the export product.Its main purpose is to inform the customers essentials details in respect of the product as regards to its quantity, quality. How to use it and maintain it. • Many a time foreign buyers insist on a particular type of label to comply with the regulation of their countries. • Different countries have different regulation regarding labelling of the product. • Most common requirement is the country of origin, • In Germany –indicate quality of material e g 100% cotton. • Oman- use of adhesive labels is prohibited, label should be in Arabic & English. • Canada –English & French language Information on a Label • Information to satisfy the legal requirements. • Instruction for taking care / use of product. • Dimension- weight,size, thickness etc • Contents / materials used in the manufacturing. • Country of origin, • Name & Address of manufacturer • Lot no, Date of Manufacturing/Expiry Forms of Label • Strip of cloths • Card label • Adhesive Stickers • User’s manual
