VOCATION

RELIGIOUS VOCATION
 Formal lifetime commitment
 Is about being so filled with the love of Christ that only
giving oneself totallyt and exclusively back to Him will
suffice.
It springs from a relationship of love with the Lord, who
initiates a deep interior call “COME, FOLLOW ME”
VOCATION OF RELIGIOUS SISTER
 A VOCATION to total concecration as a religious
sister is a gift beyond our greatest imaginings. If
the Lord has whispered such desire into your
heart, be not afraid! You are not alone in this
experience of His love. There are people who can
help you to discern this will for your life, and to
encourage you to embrace what ever that is for
“in His will our peace”
RELIGIOUS SISTERS
 Desires to love God with her whole being using all
her gifts for the love with God.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SISTER AND A NUN?
 A Catholic nun is a woman who lives as a contemplative
life in a monastery which is usually cloistered (or
enclosed). Her ministry and prayer life is centered within
and around the monastery for the good of the world. She
professes the perpetual solemn vows living a life
according to the evangelical counsels of poverty, celibacy,
and obedience.
A Catholic sister is a woman who lives, ministers,
and prays within the world. A sister's life is often
called "active" or "apostolic" because she is
engaged in the works of mercy and other
ministries that take the Gospel to others where
they are. She professes perpetual simple vows
living a life according to the evangelical counsels
of poverty, celibacy, and obedience.

Missionaries of Charity (MC)
 Today, more than 500 Filipino Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres run 60 houses in the
country with 44 schools, 11 health care facilities, 11 pastoral centers and 9
houses under the Provincial. 39 houses are in Luzon, 8 in the Visayas and 12 in
Mindanao. Several Sisters serve the greater Church in various capacities as
managers and organizers of Church Programs. Under the Catholic Bishops'
Conference of the Philippines, they assist at the National Secretariat for Social
Action, Family Life Ministry, Ministry among Migrant Workers, Religious
Education, Catechetics, formation of campus ministers and catechists, advocacy
work for indigenous groups, and communication media. With the Association of
Major Religious, they look to the promotion of women, street children and
other marginalized groups. 67 Filipino St. Paul Sisters serve in 18 mission
countries which include Central Africa, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, France, England,
Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Thailand, Hongkong, Japan, the United States, Hawaii,
Indonesia, East Timor, Dubai, Congo and Israel.
CHARISM: serve the poor with tranquil daring, work to
improve the human and spiritual level of the villagers by
educating the girls and visiting the poor and the sick, and
go places where other Congregations cannot go.
They are:
TEACHERS, HEALERS, PASTORAL WORKERS,
MISSIONARIES, SERVANTS OF THE CHURCH.
The Pauline mission is to communicate the
mystery of Christ to all peoples, through
our lives and through all the means of
social communication.

“We are sent to communicate the whole Christ, the Master,


who is Way, Truth, and Life, the Redeemer of all creation,
who reveals the Father’s love for the world and also reveals
the mystery of the human person.”
The Daughters of St. Paul is an international religious congregation of women
who are called and consecrated to proclaim Jesus Christ and make His WORD alive
to the world by witnessing to a life lived through:
 PRAYER: In Eucharistic adoration and in listening to the Word of God, she learns
to know, love and follow Christ who is the Master - Way, Truth and Life.
 STUDY: She is aware of the unfolding demands of society, tries to learn always
and from everything in order to accomplish her mission well.
 VOWED LIFE: She commits herself to Christ in a life of Poverty, Chastity and
Obedience.
 APOSTOLATE: She dedicates her time, energies, talents and her very life for the
spread of the Gospel through the means of social commmunication.
CHARISM
 The Charism given to the Founder for the Church and for all those who have
followed him in the Pauline Family is living Christ and communicating Him to
the world in the field of social communication in the spirit of St. Paul and in
the atmosphere of Mary, Queen of Apostles.

VISION
 Consecrated women apostles committed to follow Jesus Master for
evangelization through all means and forms of social communication, in the
spirit of St. Paul and the guidance of Mary.

MISSION
 To attain this vision we commit ourselves:
 To follow wholeheartedly Jesus Master, Way, Truth and Life by living the
vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience in community;
 To proclaim zealously Jesus Master, Way, Truth and Life at the service of the
Church for total and integral evangelization of peoples; and
 To be creatively faithful to the charism of the Founder using all means and
forms of social communication that progress provides, in the spirit of St. Paul
the Apostle, in the atmosphere of Mary, Queen of Apostles.
The Sisters serve in various ministries, such as
assisting in parishes and mission stations, as
well as working in the local seminary and
providing health care to the sick.[

HOLY SPIRIT SISTERS
 This community of religious women is rooted in
the Trinitarian spirituality. "Empowered by the Holy Spirit, they, in
collaboration with dedicated laity and clergy, live and proclaim the
Gospel of God’s love, justice, and peace. In dialogue with people of
diverse cultures and traditions, they minister and journey together
promoting human dignity and life-giving relationships.
 Ministries include education, health, pastoral care, spiritual
guidance, adult education, catechetic, chaplaincy work, social
work, administration and interfaith dialogue
MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY SISTERS
 The Missionaries of Charity Sisters is an international religious family of pontifical right founded by
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in 1950, composed of active and contemplative branches with perpetual,
public vows of chastity, poverty, obedience, and wholehearted and free service to the poorest of the
poor.

 The Society's aim is to quench the infinite thirst of Jesus Christ on the Cross for love and souls by
the living of the four vows in a spirit of loving trust, total surrender, and cheerfulness, leading each
one to the perfect love of God and neighbor and making the Church fully present in the world of
today,

 The aim of the apostolate is to labor at the salvation and sanctification of the poorest of the poor,
not only in the slums, but also wherever they may be all over the world, by putting the love of God
into a living action. Every member goes where she is sent and does not choose either the place or
kind of work.
