• A countable noun can be
singular or plural

• Banana is a countable noun.
• A countable noun can be singular
(banana) or plural (bananas).
o Kate was singing a song.
o There is a nice beach near here.
o There are no batteries in the radio.
Uncountable Noun

• I eat rice every day.


• I like rice.
• Rice is an uncountable noun.
• An uncountable noun has only one
form (rice)
o Kate was listening to music.
o There’s sand in my shoes.
o There is no electricity in this house.
