Perform Estimation
Estimate Farm Inputs and Labor
Requirements for Work Completion
Presented by:

Erickson S. Amandy
Agri-Crop Production Teacher
Let’s Recall….!!!
What Farm Activity is this?
Let’s Recall….!!!

What is the basic math operation

used in this math problem? What is
its area?
3 m _____ 4 m = 12 sqm

Let’s convert..!

1 meter = ________ centimeter

?
What if..?!!
What do you think the reason why do we need to
estimate the Farm Labor Requirements?

What is the most important thing to remember

when estimating?

“It is important to estimate with an excess

rather than shortage.”
Estimating Farm Inputs and Farm Labor Requirements
# of workers # of days Basic Salary
Farm Labor needed work per day Total
(person) (day/s) (Php/day)
Clearing the area
Plowing using tractor/native plow
Harrowing using tractor/native harrow
Preparation of furrows
Production of seedlings
Transplanting
Fertilizer application
Pesticide application
Watering
Weeding
Harvesting
Total
Number of units
Farm Inputs Price per unit Total
consumed
Seedlings
Fertilizer
Pesticides
Total
Farm Labor Requirements
Computation of Farm Labor
Requirements.
Formula:
Amount of salary = # of workers x # of days work x rate (salary per day)
Example:
How much salary should be paid for 2 persons in clearing the area for gardening for 2 days
at the rate of Php 250.00 per day.
Solution:
Amount of Salary = number of workers x # of days work x rate (salary per day)
= 2 x 2 days x Php 250.00/day
= Php 1,000.00
Farm Inputs
Computation of Farm Inputs
(fertilizer and pesticides)
Formula:
Cost of farm Input = price of farm input per unit x # of inputs consumed
Example:
Calculate the total amount of eggplant seeds needed in 1,000 sqm
at the price of 150 pesos per can.
Solution:
Cost of fertilizer = price of farm input per unit x # of inputs consumed
= Php 150.00/can x 1/2 can
= Php 75.00
Estimating Farm Inputs and Farm Labor Requirements
