ROBOT CONTROLLED BY ANDROID APP
• Project aim is to design a ROBOT that
can be operated using android mobile
phone

• The controlling of the ROBOT is done

wirelessly through android smart
phone using the Bluetooth

• Here the android smart phone is used

as remote control for operating the
ROBOT

• Arduino controls motor which allow

the movement of robot.
Connectivity &communication
• The Bluetooth device (HC-05) is attached to the
robot that receives the data from mobile and also
can transmit the data

• Bluetooth now comes as standard on the majority

of mobile phone and desktops

• Bluetooth is the only appropriate communications

protocol because there is no fear of getting the
frequency interference

• Bluetooth uses the mac address of the device .

Bluetooth gives the connectivity between devices
using MAC address

Microcontroller (Arduino)
 Arduino UNO is an open source microcontroller board
based on the microchip AT mega 328P
microcontroller

 It is developed by Arduino.cc

 It has 14 digital pins & 6 analog pins on the UNO can

be used as an input or output using pinmode() ,
digital write() & digital read()

 To start a Arduino connect it to a computer with a

USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or
battery
Ln298 motor driver
 The is a dual H-Bridge motor driver which
allows speed and direction control of two dc
motors at the same time

 The module can drive dc motors that have

voltages between 5 and 35 v with a peak
current up to 2A

 High Noise immunity inputs

 LN298 has quadruple high current half-H drivers.

HC serial Bluetooth
 HC serial Bluetooth product consists of Bluetooth serial interface
module and Bluetooth adapter
 Bluetooth serial module is used for converting serial port to
Bluetooth .
 The module has two modes:
1) master mode 2) slaver mode
 For the communication between mobile phone and microcontroller
Bluetooth module(HC-05) is used
 this HC 05 Bluetooth module , You can quickly add the Bluetooth
feature to your Arduino, and then you can use your android phone to
control robot
 Working voltage 3.6V to 6V , Default baud rate:9600,Default
pin:1234
 Button: Press the button, the module enter the AT mode. AT
commands are executed only in AT mode.
 6 PIN Dopunt Cable : with this Dopunt Cable , you can easily connect
Dc motor
 Almost every mechanical
movement that we see
around us is accomplished
by an electric motor.
 Motors take electrical
energy and produce
mechanical energy
Android app
 Android is an open source operating system
which means that any manufactures can use it
free costly in there phones.
 An android app is meant for phones with an
android based operating systems. They can be
downloaded from the android app Market
which is pre-loaded on every android phone.
 Blue control APP and Bluetooth Spp APP are
some examples.
 It is feasible to implement Bluetooth
communication between smart phone and
microcontroller.
 The development of apps for Android in
Android SDK is easy and free of cost.
Future scope
 This project can further implemented on platform
like AUR ,Arm micro controller etc.
 More can be done in the process of UART
communication control
 This system also can be developed by using GSM
technology .
 We can interface sensors to this robot so that it
can monitor some parameters.
 We can add wireless camera to this robot
 This project will lead to further enhancements .
For example
1. For military purpose for secret missions
conclusion
 Wireless control is one of most important basic needs for all living beings.

 Many of the wireless controlled robots use RF – modules but this project make use
of android mobile phone for robotic control which is very cheap and easily
available

 The control commands available are more than RF modules.

 The wireless communication techniques are used to control the robot that is
Bluetooth technology. Users can give various commands like move forward,
reverse , move left , move right using these commands which are sent from
mobile .
