1 Confidentiality
➔ Confidentiality is the protection of
personal information.
Confidentiality means keeping a
client’s information between you
and the client, and not telling
others including co-workers,
friends, family, etc
Types of information considered confidential can include:

● name, date of birth, age, sex and address


● current contact details of family, guardian etc
● bank details
● medical history or records Note:

political opinions, religious
● assessments or reports

Consequences of Breach

● · Termination: The first and the most obvious consequence is termination. No employer will be
willing to retain employees who maliciously or carelessly lose confidential information, they're no
longer assets for the business. An employer is usually within his legal rights to terminate the
employment, even if there is no confidentiality clause signed up. Breach of confidentiality is
considered to be breach of employment agreement.
● Lawsuit: The employer can even file a lawsuit and if successful, the employee will be required to
pay lawsuit damages. For instance, if some secret is revealed to the competitor and the employer is
able to prove the loss of business or image, the employee has to pay the same. Even if the
employer is not able to prove the quantitative damage, he is entitled to punitive damage
● Criminal Charges: In extreme information, a breach of confidentiality can even lead to criminal
charges against the employee. It may happen if the employee is involved in theft of proprietary data
or Intellectual Property.
● Reputation: In a specialized industry where businesses are well-aware about the other businesses
such acts of breach can permanently tarnish an employee's reputation. This is a long-term
consequence wherein an employee's future job aspects maybe doomed.
2. Conflict of Interests

A conflict of interest (COI) is a


situation in which a person or
organization is involved in multiple
interests, financial or otherwise, and
serving one interest could involve
working against another. Typically, this
relates to situations in which the
personal interest of an individual or
organization might adversely affect a
duty owed to make decisions for the
benefit of a third party.
The following are the most common forms of
conflicts of interests:

enter into a transaction with the official, or with another organization that
benefits the official only. The official is on both sides of the "deal."

4. OCCUPATIONAL CRIME
1. Occupational crime is crime that is committed through in the form of legal occupation.
2. Occupational crime is referred as thefts of company property, vandalism, the misuse of
information and many other activities

Some common types of occupational crime may include:

3.)Tax fraud and various employment tax evasion violations.

organisation,groups or societies to be responsible for other people's
actions and occurrences by tolerating, ignoring, or harboring them,
without actively engaging.
—MORAL RESPONSIBILITY the status of morally deserving praise,
blame, reward, or punishment for an act or omission performed or
neglected in accordance with one's moral obligations. Deciding what
(if anything) counts as "morally obligatory" is a principal concern of
ethics.
—SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
1.) Duty every individual has to perform so as to maintain a balance
between the economy and the ecosystems.
2.) An ethical framework and suggests that an entity, be it an
organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of
society at large.
—PERSONAL RESPOSIBILITY the idea that human beings choose,
instigate, or otherwise cause their own actions. A corollary idea is that
because we cause our actions, we can be held morally accountable
or legally liable.
6. Professional Rights
Employees are an assets to the company and any ethical organization would like its employees to be
happy and prosperous by providing them a safe and happy working environment, steady work,
reasonable modifications to work time, and a healthy work-life balance

➔ An employee is, at the very least, entitled to the following rights at his work place.
➔ No discrimination at work, especially on the basis of gender, nationality , religion, medical condition.
➔ Protection of job for people with disability and medical condition
➔ Freedom to discuss the terms and conditions of employment with other employees and negotiating
wages to suit lifestyle as per changing times
➔ Right to ask for safe working conditions and reservation to answering questions on age , religion,
nationality, and medical condition
➔ Right to form or participate a union that aims to improve the wages, lifestyle, working environment ,
and emphasizes on employee rights at the workplaces
