Online Class House Rules

College of Engineering and Architecture
1. Online class activities must not be shared to any social
media sites. These activities include but not limited to:
 Online discussion (Chat box, Email, Video
conferencing)
 Files (Powerpoints, PDFs, Word Documents, Excel, and
other types of files)
 Screenshots (Chat box, LMS, and others)
 Learning Management System (LMS) contents, such as;
Modules, Quizzes, Activities, Message boards, Videos,
Images, Grades and all other contents.
 Videos and images of your classmates and instructor
during online class.
The university abide by,
Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy
Act is a law that seeks to protect all forms of information, be it
private, personal, or sensitive. It is meant to cover both natural
and juridical persons involved in the processing of personal
information.
2. Wear proper attire. For the old students you can wear your
uniform and for new students, just make sure don’t wear any
unpleasing clothes/accessories like sleeveless, hoodies, cap,
sunglasses.
3. During video conference:
 Always turn on you video camera
 Turn off your microphone or audio, unless instructed to
do so. Use chatbox for urgent concerns.
 Use chatbox for official discussion of the topic.
4. Submit all files according to the instruction. Online submission is
encouraged. In submitting your files, the following formats are
recommended:
[Subject Code]_[Activity name and number]_[Student name]
For example:
•Q022_Activity 1_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Assignment 1_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Quiz 1_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Exercise 1_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Research Work 1_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Prelim Exam_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Midterm Exam_Juan Dela Cruz
•Q022_Final_Juan Dela Cruz
5. Be aware of your instructor’s consultation time. Refrain
form messaging your instructor beyond class hours.
Clarification and questions are encouraged during online
discussion.
6. Quizzes and exams must be taken only on the specified
schedule. In case of personal issues which include but not
limited to sickness and emergencies, submit necessary
documents mandated in the student manual, refer to
university guidance office for the requirements.
7. All personal concerns regarding the subject should be
directly discussed to your instructor in a private message and
not to the group.
8. Always be courteous and respectful with everyone.
9. All students are required to abide by the policy of Urdaneta
City University which include the following:
ACADEMIC HONESTY
All students are expected to be academically honest. Cheating,
lying, and other forms of unethical behavior will not be tolerated.
Any student found guilty of cheating in examinations or plagiarism
in submitted course requirements will receive an F or failure in the
course requirement or in the course. Cheating refers to securing
help in a test; copying test, assignments, reports or term papers;
collaborating with other students during an examination or in
preparing academic work that has not been designated as
collaborative activity; signing another student’s name on an
attendance sheet; or otherwise practicing scholastic dishonesty.
POLICY ON ATTENDANCE
1. In view of the challenges brought about by the COVID-19
pandemic on the educational landscape, the university is
modifying its policy on attendance for this semester.
2. Every student is required to attend his classes for every week
of the course.
3. For online-based mode of learning, the student attendance
shall be monitored based on learner’s participation in an
interactive online study group or discussion prompt,
student’s submission of outputs (assignments, activities,
exams and quizzes), or a documentation showing that the
student initiated contact with a faculty member to ask a
question about an academic subject related to the course..
4. For correspondence-based mode of learning, the student
attendance shall be monitored based on learner’s
accomplishment of outputs (assignments, activities, exams
and quizzes), or a documentation showing that the student-
initiated contact with a faculty member to ask a question
about an academic subject related to the course.
