*PROFIT
FIND :
PROFIT SHARES BASED ON THE
INVESTMENT AMOUNT.
shares: 3:4:5 => 3600 , 12Ratio =3600
1 Ratio = 300
Basic Formula:
If two partners A and B are investing their money
to run a business then (Simple Partnership)

If two partners A and B are investing their money

for different period of time to run a business
then(Compound Partnership)
A, B and C started a business by investing Rs. 250000
Rs. 300000 and Rs.350000 respectively. Find the share
of B, out of an annual profit of Rs.187200.

Ratio of shares of A, B and C = Ratio of their investment

A : B : C = 250000 : 300000 : 350000 = 5 : 6 : 7
Share of B = Rs. [187200 x 6 / 18] = 62400.
Shakeel started a software business by investing Rs. 20,000.
After six months, Neel joined him with a capital of Rs.
30,000. After 3 years, they earned a profit of Rs. 13,950.
What was Shakeel’s share in the profit?

Ratio of capitals of Shakeel and Neel

= (20,000 × 36): (30,000 × 30) = 720000: 900000 = 4: 5.
Shakeel’s share is = Rs. 13950 × 4 / 9 = Rs. 6200.
Abu and Salim started a partnership business investing
some amount of money in the ratio of 2 : 3. Shakeel
joined them after six months with an amount equal to
that of Salim . In what proportion should the profit at
the end of one year be distributed among Abu, Salim
and Shakeel ?

( Abu : Salim : Shakeel ) = (2 × 12 ) : ( 3 × 12 ) : ( 3 × 6 ) =

24 : 36 : 18 = 4 : 6 : 3
Joey started a business and he invested in 38000, After some
month, amar came to join with him and invest 28500.The end
of the year the total profit was divided among them into ratio
form 16: 8.Find after how many months did amar join.

we can assume that amar join into business after x months.

38000 x 12 / 28500 x ( x ) = 2 / 1

x= 8 , Amar money was invested for 8 months.

He joined after 12-8 = 4 months
Munna received Rs. 3000 as his share out of the total
profit of Rs. 4500 which he and Raju earned at the end
of one year. If Munna invested Rs.60000 for 6 months,
whereas Raju invested his amount for the whole year,
what was the amount invested by Raju?

Suppose Raju invested Rs. x.

Then, Ratio of their investments will be:
Munna : Raju = 60000 * 6 : x *12.
360000/12x= 3000/1500
x = 15000
Vimla started a business investing Rs. 90000. After 3
months, Pulkit joined him with a capital of Rs. 120000.
After another 6 months, Alia joined them with a
capital of Rs. 180000. At the end of the year, they
made a profit of Rs. 40000. What would be Alia’s
share in it?

Ratio of investments of Vimla, Pulkit and Alia

Vimla: Pulkit: Alia = 90000*12 : 120000*9 : 180000*3

= 2:2:1

Alia share = Rs. 40000 * (1/5) = Rs. 8000

In business, Anuj and Chirag invested amounts in the ratio 4:2, whereas the ratio
between amounts invested by Anuj and Bimal was 6:4, If Rs 314600 was their profit,
how much amount did Bimal receive?

Anuj:Bimal = 6:4 = 3:2

Anuj:Chirag = 4:2 = 2:1
Anuj:Bimal:Chirag = 6:4:3
Bimal’s share = (4/13)*314600 = 96800
Shina and Bhuwan started a business of utensils in Jagadhari by investing
their money in the ratio of 4:3 respectively. After seven months, Preeti
joined them by investing her money equal to Shina’s investment. After 2
years, they get 25% profit which is equal to the amount Rs. 14750. Find
the Investment of Preeti.

Let their weighted ratio be 4x, 3x, and 4x

First of all, to calculate their weighted ratios
⇒ Shina =4 × 24 (2 years = 24 months) = 96
⇒ Bhuwan = 3 × 24 (2 years = 24 months) = 72
⇒ Preeti= 4 × 17 (24 months – 7 months) = 68
Ratio will be: 24:18:17
Total profit after 2 years = 14750 × 100/25 = Rs 59000
⇒ Investment by Preeti = 59000 × 17 / 59 = Rs 17000
A, B and C started a business each investing Rs.10000. After
4 month A withdraws Rs.3000, B withdraws Rs.4000, C
invest Rs.3000 more At the end of the years, a total profit
was Rs.32800. Find the share of C.

Ratio of capital of A, B and C.

= ( 10,000 × 4 + 7000 × 8 ) :
( 10,000 × 4 + 6000 × 8 ) :
( 10,000 × 4 + 13000 x 8 )
= 96000 : 88000 : 144000
So, Ratio becomes 12 : 11:18
Distributing the final profit of Rs. 32800 in the given ratio, the
share of C becomes 14400.
Prince and Nakul started a partnership business by
investing Rs. 5400 and Rs 4800 respectively. After 9
months, Nakul Leaves and took his capital. At the end
of year they earned a profit of Rs. 3940. What was
Nakul’s Profit?

Prince: Nakul =
(5400 x 12) : (4800 x 9) = 648 : 432
316 : 144  158:72  79: 36
∴ Nakul's share = Rs (9200 × (79/115) ) = 7110
A and B together start a business by investing in the ratio of 4 : 3. If 9% of
the total profit goes to charity and A's share is Rs. 1196, find the total
profit.

Let Profit =rs.100

9% goes to charity = Rs.9
Rem= Rs.91
A : B=> 4:3 = 91
7 = 91
1= 13 A= 52,B = 39
A got share of Rs.1196
so, 52=1196
100 =?
Total profit = Rs. 2300
A and B are partners in a business. A contributes 1/4 of
the capital for 15 months and B received 2/3 of the
