    3rd KING EHUVALA CHAMTAMULA

    Titles: Maharajakumara
    Mother – Battimahadevi Mahasenapathi
    Sons – Virapurushadatta [Mother – Kapansri] However, he did not ascend the throne,
    – Rudrapurushadatta [Mother – Vammabhatta] probably because he died before his
    father.
    • The sakas appear to have greatly influenced the Ikshavaku
    kingdom during Evuvala’s rule. Some of the inscriptions mentioned saka
    title “Svamin” for Ikshavaku kings.
    • Method of writing inscriptions changed from Prakrit to Sanskrit in his
    period.
    1. 1st Sanskrit inscribed inscription – Nagarjunakonda Inscription.
    2. Inscribed by his Military General – Elasiri
    • His Patagandigudem Inscription is the oldest known Copper-Plate
    inscription from the Indian Subcontinent.
    • The Sarvadeva temple inscription credits his Commanders like Annikke
    and Mahasenapati Chamtapula [Kulahaka Cheif] with victories on battle
    field.

    • 1st King to construct Hindu Temples in South India, whereas her
    sister Kondasiri constructed and donated Viharas for buddhists.
    • Temples constructed by him :
    1. Pushpabhadra devalayam
    2. Navagraha devalayam
    3. Nandikeswara devalayam
    4. Haritidevi devalayam
    5. Ashtabhuja narayanaswamy devalayam
    6. Karthikeya develayam

    4th KING RUDRAPURUSHADATTA
    • According to Nagarjunakonda Inscription., dated to the 11th Regenal
    year, records the erection of a pillar to commemorate the King’s Mother
    Vammabhatta.
    • According to Gurazala Inscription., dated to his 4th regenal year, records
    land grant to the diety Halampura-Svamin by Nodu Keshari, for incease of
    Keshari’s life.
    • According to Manchikallu Inscription., Pallava King Simhavarma [From
    Kanchi] defeated Rudrapurushadatta.
    • According to Midavolu Inscription., Pallava King Shivaskandavarma
    defeated later Ikshvakus.
