HISTORY OF EULOGIO RODRIGUEZ, JR. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
 
Eulogio Rodriguez, Jr. Elementary School siting on a 10,592 square meter
lot donated by Mr. Encarnacion Mariano in 1973. It is situated between Balite
and Rosario , Rodriguez, Rizal. It is a stone throw from Eulogio Rodriguez
Town Plaza. The school is just a walking distance from Rodriguez Municipal
Building, the Church of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, the Municipal
Cemetery and the Municipal Library. Its neighboring school is St. Joseph
College.

Montalban Elementary School was the former name of the school. Then
in 1952 under the RA No. 2491 it was changed to Eulogio Rodriguez, Jr.
Elementary School in honor of the late Senator Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. for its
dedication in helping to improve the lives of the Montalbaneños. The deed of
sale of the land was turned over to Dr. Lea Atendido when our Local
Municipal Government bought it to provide more space for the building of
additional classrooms due to its fast increasing population. The school is
now considered as the Central school of the district with its dedicated and
hard working teachers. The school was able to produce excellent pupils who
are now excelling globally to different areas of industries. At present, ERES
has a total population of 3878 pupils with 90 teachers.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
A. GUIDANCE OFFICE
The guidance and counseling office aims to provide
opportunities for all pupils to learn and develop their
fullest potentials and to help pupils understand
themselves and at the same time help the parents,
teachers and school head understand the pupils.
A pupil is free to approach the Guidance Teacher on
his/ her own guidance and counseling. The office is
open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m to 4:00
p.m.
B. RECORD’S OFFICE
The Records Office is in charge of
all the registration activities and
records of pupils particularly the
permanent records- Form 137. It
is open from Monday to Friday
from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
C. LIBRARY
The library provides
comprehensive services related
to the use of various types of
materials and equipment to
support the instructional
program. It is open from Monday
to Friday 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
D. CLINIC

The clinic is open from 8:00 am


to 4:00 p.m. It is supervised by the
school nurse who provides first aid
in case of emergencies. Medicine is
dispensed only upon the advise of
the school nurse and for the
immediate use of the pupils.
When hospitalization is
necessary, the pupil is brought to
any nearby hospital/ health center
and an immediate report is made to
parents/ guardian.
E. SCHOOL CANTEEN

Meals, snacks and refreshments are available at the


School Canteen at reasonable prices. The canteen
is open from 7:00 a.m to 4:00 pm.
SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Here are the school rules and regulations set by the school for strict
compliance.

A. ATTENDANCE / PUNCTUALITY
1. Regularity of attendance and punctuality are required in all
classes . A pupil who has been absent or has cut classes is required
to present a letter of explanation from his/ her parents or guardians
or to bring them to school for a short conference with the section
adviser or guidance teacher as the case may be.
2. Attendance of pupils in special holidays , activities relative to
their religions shall be allowed provided permission of the school
head is sought.
3. A pupil who incurs absences of more than twenty percent
(20%) of the prescribed number of class during the school year
should be given a failing grade and given no credits for the subject.
Furthermore, the school head may at his / her
discretion and in the individual case exempt , a pupil
who exceeds the twenty percent limit for reasons
considered valid and acceptable to the school. Such
discretion shall not excuse the pupil concerned from
responsibility in keeping up with lesson , assignments
and taking examinations where indicated. The
discretionary authority is vested in the school head,
and may not be availed of by a pupil nor granted by a
class adviser without the consent of the school head.
4. Habitual tardiness especially during the first
period in the morning and in the afternoon shall not be
allowed. Teachers concerned shall call for the parents
of the pupil concerned or visit him/her at home.

 
B. SCHOOL UNIFORM / IDENTIFICATION CARD/HAIRCUT

1. A school uniform shall be prescribed for all pupils “


as per agreement”. Shoes are considered part of the
uniform.
1.1. The prescribed uniform for boys : white polo ;
straight cut green pants; black leather or rubber shoes and
white pair of socks.
1.2. The prescribed uniform for girls : white blouse
with sports collar ; green checkered pleated skirts ; black
shoes and white pair of socks.
2. All pupils shall be required to wear the official school
ID inside the school.
3. The acceptable haircut for boys shall be at least one
(1) inch above the ear and three (3) inches above the collar
line.
 
SCHOOL VIOLATION
A. CATEGORIES OF OFFENSES

1. GRAVE OFFENSES— The offenses punishable by suspension or expulsio


depending on the seriousness of the offenses.
a. Gross misconduct
b. Cheating and stealing
c. Assaulting a teacher or any other
school authority or pupils
d. Smoking inside the school
premises
e. Vandalism , writing on or
destroying school property like
chairs , tables , windows, books
and others.
f. Gambling of any sort
g. Drinking intoxicants and liquor
h. Carrying and concealing deadly
weapons.
 
i. Extortion or asking money from others.
j. Fighting causing injury to others
k. Using , possessing and selling of prohibited drugs.
l. Immorality or sexual harassment
m. Instigating , leading or participating in concerned
activities leading to stoppage of classes
n. Preventing , threatening pupils , teachers or school
authorities from discharging their duties or attending
classes or entering school premises
o. Forging or tampering with school records or
transfer forms

2. MINOR OFFENSES— The minor offenses or infractions of


good discipline are the following :
a. Absenteeism , cutting of classes
and tardiness
b. Failure to wear prescribed uniform
c. Wearing of cap and the like inside
the school building especially
inside the classroom
d. Wearing of earrings for the boys and more than a pair of earrings
for the girls, outlandish hairstyles ,painting of tattoo, over accessories and
body piercing.
e. Using profane language to insult another
f. Littering ( plastic cups, bottles, candy wrappers or any waste) inside the
school especially inside the classroom
g. Loitering ad staying inside or outside the school during the class hour
h. Bringing , using and selling of pornographic materials
i. Using different gadgets like cellular phones , i-pad ,psp , etc. during class
hours
j. Unruly behavior during assemblies , religious services , etc.
k. Going to restricted places
l. Refusal to display school ID prominently and placings tickers and other
objects on school ID
m. Sitting on tables , standing on benches as sitting with feet up and legs
wide apart
n. Writing or drawing on a fellow pupil’s handbooks , books and notebooks
o. Borrowing without returning
p. Spending for personal use of funds entrusted to him / her.
q. Refusing to obey pupil leader when the latter is discharging
his/ her duty or representing an authority
r. Irresponsibly playful like pulling chair away when one is about
to sit ; hiding another’s property ; blocking another’s path etc.
s. Jumping over the fence
t. Disrespectful to the national flag and singing of national
anthem
u. Spitting elsewhere
v. Chewing of bubble gum inside the school during class hour
and placing of bubble gum in chairs, walls , etc.
w. Putting make-up and face powder during class hour
x. Urinating elsewhere or in inappropriate places
y. Not giving letter to parents.
z. Bullying including physical , emotional , mental and cyber-
bullying
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

The school head has mandated of authority , accountability


and responsibility for creating an environment conducive to
teaching and learning within the school that is she be the
only deemed person in authority . The principal as the school
head is therefore in power to determine and execute the
necessary sanction mandated by the school rules and
regulations.
In the exercise of discretion given to the principal , all
submitted reports and recommendations by the various levels
of officers ( guidance teacher , grade leader and class
advisers ) shall be considered supportive and guidelines for
proper basis of judgement , fair and just decision.
In case of irresponsible and undesirable behavior , the
following sanctions may be imposed :
1.ORAL WARNING AND WRITTEN REPRIMAND—The violator shall
be reminded on his / her misbehavior and shall sign on the
behavior form together with his/her parent/guardian. The case
should be recorded in the confidential log book.

2. PROBATIONARY—The violator shall be required to undergo


therapy . There are two types of therapy : the school therapy and
home therapy . In school therapy , the student shall be given
school tasks that aim to develop his / her sense of
responsibility , moral character and personal discipline under the
supervision of guidance teacher , and class adviser . On the other
hand , home therapy shall be given to pupils who needs parental
guidance. He / She shall be given tasks that aim to develop his /
her intra personal skills under the supervision of guidance
teacher , class adviser and parents/ guardians.

3. SUSPENSION—The violator may be suspended for a fixed


period . It will be recorded in the pupil’s anecdotal record.

 
4. EXPULSION—The violator shall be banned on enrolment .
His / her right to avail free public education shall be
terminated .
