INTRODUCTION
An Alcoholic beverage is a drink that typically contains
3% - 60% Ethanol, commonly known as Alcohol.
Alcoholic Beverages are divided into following classes:

Different Materials and different method are used in the

manufacture of Alcoholic Beverage. But there is one more
characteristic in all of them, namely, they are made by the
process of Fermentation.
• The Enzymes present in Yeast catalyze the breakdown of
Glucose.

DISTILLED BEVERAGE
• Distilled Beverages are all Alcoholic Beverages in which the
Concentration of Ethyl Alcohol has been increased above
that of the original fermented mixture by a method called
Distillation.
• It is a process of separating component substances from

Liquid mixtures through vaporization and condensation,
based on different volatility of components in the mixture.
Distillation is a unit operation, or a physical separation
Process, and not a chemical reaction.

1. Vodka is one of the world’s most popular beverage. It is a colorless

beverage(white spirit) distilled from Grains, Potatoes,
Molasses/Beetroot.
2. It is said to have originated in Russia and derives its name from

“VODA” meaning WATER.
3. It consists of Ethanol, Water and flavorings and is normally odorless.
4. Alcoholic strength of Vodka ranges from 38% – 43%.

M2 MAGIC MOMENTS
EXPLANATION OF THE FRONT LABEL
Brand Name – M2 MAGIC MOMENTS.
M2 MAGIC MOMENTS is a vodka brand blended and bottled by

RADICO KHAITAN of Rampur, INDIA. It is certified gluten free in the
U.S.A and CANADA.
The core bottling is Triple Distilled and blended with Rice Grain
Spirit imported from France. It is comprised of various flavors like
Lemon, Orange, Green Apple, Ginger and Chocolate.

1. FSSAI – “FOOD AND STANDARDS AUTHORITY OF INDIA” means the

vodka fulfills the criteria and benchmarks set by the authority and is
legal to be sold in INDIA.
2. NET CONTENTS – 180ml.
3. STRENGTH – 25% U.P.

U.P. Stands for UNDER PROOF. In ENGLAND
Spirits were originally tested with a basic “ burn or no burn test” in
which alcohol that Ignites was said to be “ ABOVE PROOF” and the
alcohol which was not was said “UNDER PROOF”.
4. 42.8% v/v
v/v deals with solutes. Here first “v” refers to the volume of one liquid, and second “v”
refers to the volume of another liquid mixed in a solute.
42.8% v/v is a measure that 42.8ml of ETHANOL(alcohol) is mixed with 100ml of WATER.
5. 75 ̊PROOF
Alcohol Proof is a measure of how much Alcohol contained in an Alcohol
Beverage. 75% proof means it is 37.5% of alcohol by weight.
