    A time diagram is a diagram used to represent celestial positions and solve time problems. It depicts the celestial equator as a circle with celestial meridians and hour circles as radial lines, as viewed from the south pole. The Greenwich Hour Angle (GHA) measures angular distance from the Greenwich meridian to a body from 0-360 degrees clockwise. The Local Hour Angle (LHA) measures angular distance from the local meridian to a body. The Sidereal Hour Angle measures angular distance from the first point of Aries to a body. Formulas are provided to calculate LHA from GHA and longitude depending on whether the longitude is west or east. A short quiz is included to test LHA calculations.

    TIME DIAGRAM
    A time diagram is a diagram on the plane of the celestial
    equator or equinoctial in which the celestial equator
    appears as a circle, and celestial meridians and hour circles
    as radial lines. It is used to facilitate solution of time
    problems and other problems involving arcs of the celestial
    equator or angles at the pole, by indicating relations
    between various quantities involved. Conventionally, the
    relationships are given as viewed from a point over the
    south pole ( Ps ) westward direction being
    counterclockwise
