A Group can be defined as consisting of two or

more individuals who interact with each other to


accomplish certain goals or meet certain needs.
    
  
   
In order to be called a group, the following
conditions must be satisfied:
1)People must interact with one another.
2)People must be psychologically aware of one
another.
3)People should perceive themselves as a group
`he group which is defined by organization's structure, with
designated work assignments and establishing tasks. `hese
groups may either be permanent or temporary.`he behaviour
in which one should engage in are stipulated and directed by
and towards organisational goals..
R.`hese are the part of the organisational structure.
2.`hese are created deliberately and consciously by the
management to perform the assigned duties.
3.`he pattern of communication is also defined and the rules
are laid down to regulate the behaviour of the group
members.
4.`hese may be permanent like board of directors and
temporary like temporary committes , task force
A group which is composed of subordinates who report to the same
supervisor, also called a department or unit and specified by
organisation chart. It is a permanent group.

r Permanent in nature.
r Members report to common supervisors.
r Functional reporting relationship exists.

TASK GJ P
A group in which the employees are working together to complete a
job task or particular project. It is a temporary group.
A group that is neither formally structured nor
organisationally determined; that appears in response to the
need for social contact.`hese groups are natural formation in
the work environment that appear in response to the common
interest of the organisation members such as self defense,work
assistance.
A group in which the employees are working together to
attain a specific objective with which each is concerned.i.e
these are temporary groups.

FRIENDSHIP GROUP
`hese groups generally arise because the employees share
one common characteristics may be age or political views.
i.e these are permanent groups.
