• Problem Solving & Analytical Approach

• Continuous Improvement

• Problems are Mini Case Studies but a group of longer


case studies will be embedded in the course in the form
of assignments

1)- Demand Management & Forecasting
2)- Inventory Concepts & Lot Sizing Fundamentals
3)- Re-Ordering Strategies & Safety Stocks
4)- Jobs/Orders Sequencing Techniques
5)- Process Capacity & Resource Utilization
6)- Waiting Lines Management
7)- Acceptance Sampling for Quality Control
8)- Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control
9)- Stock Ordering Under Probabilistic Demands
Grading Structure
MidTerm Exam - 30%

Final Exam - 30%

Four Written Analysis of Case Studies - 24% (6% each)

Problem Sets  6%

Class Participation - 10%

The MidTerm Exam and the Final Exam will be mutually


exclusive; the contents covered in the MidTerm won’t be
asked again in the Final Exam

Each Component Grading will be “Relative” ~ you will be


competing with each other throughout the semester

There is no formal text book for this course. Scanned
handouts or E-Books will be emailed out to you for each
topic via googlegroup posts.
