BATANGAS MEDICAL CENTER
It was constructed sometime in the year 1927
during the administration of Governor
MODESTO CASTILLO.  

This hospital was inaugurated and opened to the


general public on January 1, 1928 as a
“Provincial Hospital” with a bed capacity of 30,
with Dr. Sixto L. Roxas, a prominent and well
known physician of Batangas, as Chief of
Hospital.
BATANGAS MEDICAL CENTER
 In NOVEMBER 19, 2009, at last the long wait was over.  By
virtue of REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9791, “An Act Amending
Republic Act No. 7532 , CONVERTING THE BATANGAS
REGIONAL HOSPITAL TO THE BATANGAS MEDICAL
CENTER, FURTHER INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY
TO FIVE HUNDRED (500) BEDS,” was approved and signed
into law by former President GLORIA MACAPAGAL-
ARROYO. 

 In January, 2013, under the administration of Dr.


RAMONCITO C. MAGNAYE, Chief of Hospital III, the
Batangas Regional Hospital was renamed as BATANGAS
MEDICAL CENTER (BatMC)

ROLES OF A SOCIAL WORKER IN BATMC
(HOSPITAL SETTING)

 For Maam Sonia as head: Supervision, monitoring of their work &


coaching
 Social worker: All the patients in the admission shall be interviewed
by the social worker within 24 hrs.
- (Sworker assigned by ward)
- 20 – 30 minimum patients
- classified what category the patients belong to
-defined the real problems & needs of the client
 They must also do team work (helping other wards if they were
done in their designated ward) – Shared Responsiblity
 The Sworker must not only limit resources on the what the hospital
can only offer the must be a good broker(link to other resources)
 Always be reminded of having a multi-disciplinary team
 They worker must do visitation and follow up the clients.

 They social worker must be sure in everything he/she do in


helping to address the clients problems.
 They must attend related seminars and training for profession
advancement and for OPD requirement.
 They must secure all the document of the clients.
 For no relative clients: they must need to do all the process
needed such as:
using of media “panawagan”
-counsel the relatives & family member regarding to their
roles.
 Find the strength of every patients to obtain good relationship
 Coordinate with the other agencies involve and also agencies for
the referral of your clients.
