    99 Speedmart was founded in 1987 by Lee Thiam Wah as a sundry store in Klang, Selangor. It has since expanded to become the largest mini market retail chain in Malaysia, with over 1,750 outlets as of 2020 located primarily on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia but also in Sabah and Sarawak. Under Lee's leadership, 99 Speedmart received several consumer choice awards from the Malaysian government between 2006 and 2014, proving its success among consumers. Currently, 99 Speedmart operates over 570 outlets employing more than 6,000 people with 4 distribution centers and 105 trucks to meet delivery demands.

     99 Speedmart was founded by Lee Thiam Wah in 1987 as a sundry store in Klang, Selangor.

    After the rebranding of 99 Market to 99 Speedmart in 2000, the company expanded with a new

    store opening at Batu Belah, Klang. Since its inception, 99 Speedmart has evolved from a single

    mini market to the largest mini market retail chain in Malaysia.

     As of 22 November 2020, 99 Speedmart has more than 1,750 outlets. A significant majority of

    them are located in the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia with a growing presence in Sabah

     and Sarawak
     99 Speedmart received its first Consumer Choice Award from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Malaysia in 2006.

    This milestone award proved 99 Speedmart’s success in winning consumers’ hearts and minds. Under his

    leadership, 99 Speedmart had continuously been awarded Consumer Choice Award from 2006 to 2009 & 2012

    and Kedai Harga Patut in the years 2010, 2012 and 2014.

     Currently, 99 Speedmart operates more than 570 outlets in Malaysia and employs more than 6000 employees.

    With 4 Distribution Centres and 105 Trucks, they are able to meet the demand of rapidly expanding chain of 99

    Speedmart outlets and managing delivery to 300 outlets daily.
